THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it
As a Security Engineer on our Software Security team, you'll deliver security projects that support quarterly team goals and reduce risk across the products and services FanDuel ships. Working closely with engineering teams across the organization, you'll identify risk, design solutions, and build the tooling and automation that make secure development repeatable at scale. You're equally comfortable writing code and reviewing systems for security gaps, and you bring hands-on curiosity and growing expertise in AI/LLM security as that space rapidly evolves.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.
THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
- Deliver security projects that support quarterly team goals, working independently and seeking input when the path forward isn't clear.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify security risks early, from design and code review through CI/CD, deployment, and production.
- Build automation and tooling that makes secure development the path of least resistance for engineering teams across FanDuel.
- Design and implement AI Agents that automate and enforce security controls across the SDLC.
- Apply emerging AI/LLM security knowledge to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in AI-powered products, including prompt injection, model supply chain, and data exposure threats.
- Collaborate with partner teams to champion security standards, best practices, and risk trade-offs.
- Adapt your role to fill technical gaps as the program evolves.
- Other duties as required.
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Hands-on security engineering experience embedded in the software development lifecycle, with a working understanding of how risk surfaces across design, build, and deployment stages.
- Solid coding skills in at least one modern language (Python, Go, or similar).
- Strong understanding of software design principles and secure coding practices, with the ability to build security tooling that is maintainable, scalable, and built to production standards.
- Experience designing and implementing AI Agents or similar automated systems that enforce security controls across engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM security risks including prompt injection, model supply chain vulnerabilities, and data exposure, with an appetite to grow your expertise as the threat landscape evolves.
- Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and software development environments.
- Working knowledge of industry frameworks (OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or similar) and a practical sense of when and how to apply them.
- Ability to perform risk analyses that help cross-functional partners weigh trade-offs and make informed decisions.
- Ability to review code for security vulnerabilities across one or more modern languages, with familiarity in common weakness patterns such as injection, authentication flaws, and insecure data handling.

Target technical and product roles first
FanDuel's sponsorship activity skews toward engineering, data, and product functions, the backbone of any online betting platform. If your background is in software development, data science, or product management, you're applying into the strongest sponsorship pipeline at the company.
Australians should ask specifically about the E-3
FanDuel has sponsored E-3 visas, making it a viable target for Australian citizens. The E-3 has no lottery and faster processing than the H-1B, so flagging your eligibility early in conversations with FanDuel recruiters can accelerate the sponsorship discussion significantly.
Understand the regulated nature of FanDuel's industry
Gambling and betting companies operate under strict state-level licensing requirements, which means compliance, legal, and risk roles are core to the business. Candidates with regulatory or compliance backgrounds may find sponsorship pathways that don't exist at companies in less-regulated industries.
OPT and CPT students should apply early
FanDuel sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which means international students can get a foot in the door without immediate H-1B sponsorship pressure. Securing a role during OPT builds the internal track record that often leads to H-1B sponsorship at petition time.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every job posting at a betting company reflects genuine visa sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your energy on FanDuel roles where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed.
Reference FanDuel's Green Card track record in interviews
FanDuel has a strong track record of sponsoring Green Cards, signaling a long-term commitment to international employees. Raising this in later-stage interviews, not as a demand but as a career planning question, signals your intent to grow with the company.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does FanDuel sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, FanDuel sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established history of supporting H-1B petitions, particularly for technical and product roles. Because H-1B sponsorship at FanDuel typically follows an existing employment relationship, your strongest path is to secure a role through OPT or another status first, then convert when the petition window opens in April.
Which visa types does FanDuel sponsor?
FanDuel sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. The range of visa types reflects a company that regularly hires international talent across multiple nationalities and career stages. Australian citizens in particular should note the E-3 visa option, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely.
Which departments or roles at FanDuel are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Engineering, data science, product management, and technology infrastructure roles are the most common sponsorship candidates at FanDuel, consistent with the technical demands of running a large-scale online betting platform. Compliance and regulatory roles are also a realistic target given the heavily regulated nature of the gambling and betting industry. Business, marketing, and operations roles are less consistently sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at FanDuel?
Migrate Mate lists verified visa-sponsoring employers and lets you filter by company, visa type, and role, so you can see exactly which FanDuel positions are open to sponsored candidates. Searching directly through Migrate Mate saves time compared to manually combing through job postings and guessing at sponsorship eligibility based on vague language in job descriptions.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored at FanDuel?
Start by entering through a status FanDuel already supports, such as OPT or CPT, which reduces the immediate sponsorship burden during hiring. Once inside, demonstrating clear value in a technical or compliance-adjacent role puts you in the strongest position for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. Be transparent about your visa timeline early, and ask HR about their sponsorship process before your OPT clock becomes urgent.
