Job Roles at Florida Atlantic University Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Florida Atlantic University Visa Sponsorship USA
Target academic and research roles first
Florida Atlantic University's sponsorship activity is concentrated in faculty, postdoctoral, and research positions. Focus your search on departments in STEM, healthcare, and social sciences, where international hiring and visa sponsorship are most common.
Connect with FAU's international hiring office early
Universities process sponsorship through dedicated international faculty or HR offices. Reaching out to FAU's international services team early in the hiring process helps clarify timelines and confirms whether a specific role qualifies for sponsorship.
Look for roles with multi-year funding or tenure track
Tenure-track faculty positions and grant-funded research roles are far more likely to include Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3. These roles signal long-term institutional commitment, which is often a prerequisite for immigrant visa support.
Time your application around the H-1B filing window
FAU hires for the academic year, so many roles are posted in spring and winter. Aligning your job search with the H-1B cap season, petitions filed in April for October start dates, matters. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history.
Highlight your specialty occupation qualifications clearly
For H-1B approval, FAU must demonstrate the role is a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree. In your application materials, make the connection between your credentials and the position's requirements explicit, don't leave that case for HR to make on your behalf.

Does Florida Atlantic University sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Florida Atlantic University sponsors H-1B visas, particularly for faculty, researchers, and professional staff in roles that qualify as specialty occupations. FAU has a consistent record of H-1B filings and is considered an active sponsor within the higher education sector. Roles in STEM departments, healthcare programs, and research centers are among the most common pathways.
What types of visas does Florida Atlantic University sponsor?
Florida Atlantic University sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation workers, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for eligible faculty and staff, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees. TN visas for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional roles are also supported, making FAU a versatile sponsor across multiple visa categories.
Which departments or roles at Florida Atlantic University are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at FAU is most common in tenure-track and research faculty roles, postdoctoral positions, and specialized professional staff positions in areas like engineering, computer science, biomedical research, and healthcare. Administrative and general staff roles are less frequently sponsored. Reviewing job postings carefully for sponsorship language and contacting FAU's HR office directly can help clarify eligibility before applying.
How do I find open visa sponsorship jobs at Florida Atlantic University?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find verified sponsorship opportunities at Florida Atlantic University. You can filter directly by employer and visa type to see roles where FAU has a documented sponsorship history, which removes the guesswork of identifying which postings are genuinely open to international candidates. FAU also posts openings through its own careers portal.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting Florida Atlantic University for H-1B sponsorship?
Start the process well before your current work authorization expires. FAU, like most universities, begins hiring for academic-year roles in winter and spring. Because H-1B cap petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, you need a job offer finalized several months in advance. Cap-exempt status as a university means FAU can file H-1B petitions year-round, which offers more flexibility than most employers.
