Target roles with a clear professional degree requirement
ABM's Green Card sponsorships through EB-2 and EB-3 tend to go to roles where a specific degree field is essential. Consulting and professional services positions with defined technical requirements are your strongest entry point for sponsorship consideration.
Raise the Green Card conversation after proving your value
In consulting and professional services environments like ABM, sponsorship decisions are rarely made at hire. Build a track record first, then surface the conversation with your manager or HR once you've demonstrated your contribution and long-term fit.
Understand which pathway fits your background
ABM files under both EB-2 and EB-3, so knowing which applies to you matters. EB-2 typically requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Clarifying this early helps you set realistic timeline expectations.
Look for roles that already have a sponsorship history
Not every ABM job title has been sponsored for a Green Card before. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on positions where ABM has already demonstrated a willingness to sponsor.
Be prepared for the PERM labor certification process
Most ABM Green Card cases will start with PERM, where the Department of Labor certifies no qualified U.S. workers are available. This process takes time and requires your employer to run a compliant recruitment effort, so patience and early planning are essential.
Align your role to a stable, ongoing business need
ABM is more likely to pursue Green Card sponsorship for employees in roles tied to core business functions rather than project-based work. In professional services, positions with ongoing operational responsibility tend to have a stronger case for long-term sponsorship investment.
ABM Industries Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ABM Industries sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, ABM Industries does sponsor Green Card visas for eligible employees. The company files under the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories, primarily for professional and technical roles within its consulting and facility services operations. Sponsorship is not guaranteed at hire and is typically extended to employees who have demonstrated long-term value to the organization.
Which roles or departments at ABM Industries are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Roles in professional services, technical operations, and consulting functions are most commonly associated with ABM's Green Card filings. Positions that require a specific bachelor's or advanced degree and are tied to ongoing business operations, rather than short-term project work, tend to be stronger candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at ABM Industries?
The process at ABM typically begins with PERM labor certification, where the Department of Labor verifies that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. ABM's immigration or HR team then files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Once your priority date becomes current, you can proceed to adjustment of status or consular processing. Immigration counsel usually manages the employer-side filings.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through ABM Industries?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take a year or more. After an approved I-140, applicants from high-demand countries like India or China may face extended priority date backlogs lasting years. Applicants from most other countries typically see shorter waits. Starting the conversation early with ABM's HR team is strongly advised.
How do I find Green Card jobs at ABM Industries that are open to sponsorship?
Job postings rarely specify Green Card sponsorship directly, which makes it difficult to identify eligible roles through standard job boards. Migrate Mate tracks verified employer sponsorship history, so you can identify ABM Industries positions where Green Card filings have occurred before and target your applications accordingly. From there, confirming sponsorship willingness during early conversations with the hiring team is the most reliable next step.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at ABM Industries?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
