Target engineering and operations roles first
Atkore's Green Card filings concentrate in technical disciplines tied to its manufacturing operations, including electrical engineering, process engineering, and supply chain roles. Prioritizing these functions when you apply puts you closer to the teams where sponsorship is an established practice.
Align your credentials to EB pathway requirements
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers skilled workers with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. For manufacturing roles at Atkore, EB-3 is the more common path, so confirm your degree level and field match the job description before applying.
Understand the PERM process before your offer
PERM labor certification, filed with DOL, requires Atkore to document that no qualified U.S. worker was available for your role. The recruitment process is employer-driven, but knowing the timeline, typically six to twelve months for PERM alone, helps you set realistic expectations during negotiations.
Verify your wage meets prevailing wage standards
DOL requires your offered salary to meet the prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for your specific job title in Atkore's operating regions before you reach the offer stage, so compensation conversations don't delay the filing.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Atkore's sponsorship history
Before targeting Atkore specifically, use Migrate Mate to review the company's verified LCA and Green Card filing history by role and location. This lets you confirm which job categories have actually been sponsored and tailor your application to the positions with a real track record.
Address sponsorship directly during the offer stage
Ask Atkore's recruiter or HR team to confirm which immigration pathway applies to your role and whether the company uses in-house counsel or an outside firm. Knowing this early prevents delays after your offer is signed and ensures the PERM timeline starts without administrative lag.
Atkore Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Atkore sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Atkore sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based pathways. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and engineering roles tied to the company's manufacturing operations. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a period of employment, so raise the topic with your hiring manager or HR contact early in the process.
Which roles and departments at Atkore are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Atkore is most common in engineering, operations, and technical functions that support its electrical products manufacturing business. Roles in process engineering, supply chain, and product development have historically aligned with sponsorship activity. Corporate and administrative positions are less frequently sponsored but not categorically excluded.
How do I start the Green Card process at Atkore?
The process begins with your employer initiating PERM labor certification through DOL, which documents that no qualified U.S. worker was displaced by your hire. After PERM approval, Atkore files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf. You can use Migrate Mate to understand which stage your role falls under and what documentation you'll need to prepare.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by Atkore?
The full timeline depends on your visa category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone takes six to twelve months, followed by I-140 adjudication by USCIS. For applicants born in countries with visa backlogs, the wait for an available priority date can extend the total timeline significantly beyond the initial filing stages.
How do I improve my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at Atkore?
Focus your application on roles in Atkore's engineering and manufacturing operations where sponsorship has an established track record. Confirm your degree and experience align with EB-2 or EB-3 requirements before applying. During the offer process, ask directly whether the role is eligible for sponsorship and request clarity on the company's internal immigration support process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Atkore?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
