Align your credentials to Aurora's research focus
Aurora hires deeply in autonomous systems, sensor fusion, and applied ML research. Document your technical publications, patents, or proprietary research contributions before applying. Adjudicators reviewing your PERM or EB-2 petition will scrutinize whether your background directly maps to the specialty occupation Aurora is filling.
Understand which EB pathway fits your profile
EB-2 requires a master's degree or equivalent in a directly related field, while EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's. If you hold a three-year degree, compile evidence of equivalency early. For senior research scientists, EB-1B may apply if you have peer-reviewed publications or international recognition in your field.
Target teams with demonstrated PERM filing history
Aurora's Green Card sponsorship concentrates in engineering and research functions rather than operations or business roles. When evaluating open positions, prioritize teams working on perception, planning, or simulation. PERM filings are publicly searchable through DOL, so you can verify whether a specific job category has a sponsorship track record.
Request a sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
Aurora's hiring managers don't automatically initiate PERM for every role. During the offer stage, ask HR directly which employment categories are eligible and what the typical timeline from hire to PERM filing looks like. Getting this in writing protects you if internal policies shift after you've joined.
Use Migrate Mate to search Aurora's verified sponsorship roles
Filter for Aurora on Migrate Mate to see roles with confirmed Green Card filing history. This surfaces active positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process, so you're not spending interviews on roles that won't advance to PERM, saving you weeks of uncertainty during your job search.
Prepare your prevailing wage documentation before PERM begins
Aurora must file a prevailing wage determination with DOL before opening the PERM recruitment period. You can use the OFLC Wage Search to identify the wage level your role will likely need to meet. If your current offer is below that threshold, address the gap with HR before PERM is filed to avoid delays.
Aurora Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aurora sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Aurora sponsors Green Cards for qualifying employees, primarily in engineering, research, and autonomous systems roles. Sponsorship is tied to specific job categories and is not automatic for every hire. Candidates should confirm sponsorship eligibility during the offer process, as availability can vary by team and role type within the company.
Which roles at Aurora are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Aurora is most common in technical roles involving autonomous vehicle development, machine learning research, sensor integration, and software engineering. Research scientists and senior engineers with specialized degrees tend to be prioritized. Operations, sales, and generalist business roles are less frequently sponsored for permanent residence.
How do I understand the Green Card process at Aurora?
Aurora typically sponsors through the PERM labor certification route, which requires DOL to certify that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. After PERM approval, Aurora files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Your priority date is set at I-140 filing, and you can apply to adjust status once a visa number becomes available for your country and category.
How long does the Green Card process take at Aurora?
The PERM stage alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL processing times and whether an audit is triggered. After PERM, USCIS processes the I-140 petition, which adds additional months. Total timelines vary significantly based on your country of birth and the employment-based category Aurora files under, so starting early in your career there matters.
How do I find Aurora Green Card jobs on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employer and visa sponsorship type, so you can search directly for Aurora roles with Green Card sponsorship history. This helps you identify active openings in departments where PERM filings have occurred before, rather than applying broadly and discovering sponsorship isn't available after multiple interview rounds.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Aurora?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
