Job Roles at Biogen
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Biogen Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target roles in Biogen's core research areas
Biogen's Green Card sponsorship concentrates in scientific and technical functions, including neuroscience research, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs. Focusing your applications on these high-priority departments improves your chances of landing a role with a clear path to permanent residency.
Confirm sponsorship history before applying
Not every open role at Biogen includes Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify which Biogen positions have a documented track record before you invest time applying.
Understand that Green Card timelines at biotech firms are long
The PERM labor certification process followed by I-140 and adjustment of status can take several years. At a company like Biogen, starting this conversation during the offer or onboarding stage, rather than after settling in, helps set realistic expectations early.
Highlight specialized credentials in healthcare and life sciences
Biogen looks for candidates with deep domain expertise in areas like neurology, immunology, or biopharmaceutical development. The stronger the case that your skills are difficult to source domestically, the more compelling the PERM labor certification filing becomes for your employer.
Ask about Biogen's immigration support during negotiations
Large healthcare and life sciences employers typically retain immigration counsel to manage Green Card filings. Confirming that Biogen will cover legal fees and filing costs as part of your offer protects you from unexpected out-of-pocket expenses later in the process.
Build tenure before expecting Green Card initiation
Most employers in the Healthcare and Medical Services industry, including Biogen, expect demonstrated performance before initiating a Green Card. Establishing yourself in the role and aligning with your manager on a sponsorship timeline within your first year puts you on the strongest footing.

Does Biogen sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Biogen sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company has a consistent record of filing permanent residency petitions, particularly for roles in research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and other specialized scientific functions. Sponsorship is generally initiated after an employee establishes performance in their role, and the process is handled with the support of immigration counsel.
Which departments at Biogen are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Biogen is most common in scientific and technical departments, including neuroscience research, clinical operations, bioinformatics, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs. Roles requiring advanced degrees or highly specialized expertise in the life sciences are more frequently sponsored because they support a stronger PERM labor certification case.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Biogen?
The process typically begins with PERM labor certification, where Biogen's immigration attorneys demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. This is followed by an I-140 immigrant petition and, depending on your priority date and country of birth, adjustment of status or consular processing. Biogen generally manages this process through retained legal counsel, so your main responsibility is providing documentation and responding to requests promptly.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Biogen?
The full Green Card process typically spans several years from initiation to approval. PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year. For nationals of countries with high immigration demand, such as India or China, priority date backlogs can extend the overall timeline significantly. Starting the conversation with your manager and HR early in your tenure helps account for these delays in your career planning.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Biogen?
Searching specifically for Green Card-sponsored roles requires filtering beyond standard job boards. Migrate Mate lets you search verified Green Card sponsors, including Biogen, so you can identify open positions where permanent residency support is part of the offer. Targeting roles that align with Biogen's core scientific functions and confirming sponsorship intent during the interview process gives you the clearest picture before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Biogen?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
