Does Cricket Wireless sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Cricket Wireless does sponsor Green Card visas. Sponsorship is focused on technical and specialized roles, and the company files under both EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Sponsorship is selective rather than widespread, so candidates in qualifying technical disciplines have the strongest prospects of receiving support through the Green Card process.
Which roles and departments at Cricket Wireless are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Cricket Wireless is concentrated in technical functions, particularly network engineering, software development, and information technology. These roles align with the specialized skills that support EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility. Business, sales, and operational roles are less commonly sponsored, though exceptions exist depending on the specific position and candidate qualifications.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Cricket Wireless?
The process typically begins after you've secured a permanent job offer. Cricket Wireless initiates PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. Your immigration attorney works alongside the company's HR and legal team. The process requires patience, as each stage has its own review timeline beyond the company's control.
How long does the Green Card process take at Cricket Wireless?
The full Green Card timeline depends on your visa category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take a year or more. For EB-2 and EB-3 applicants born in India or China, priority date backlogs can extend the wait significantly beyond initial filing. You can use Migrate Mate to find and track sponsoring employers while you plan your long-term timeline.
How do I increase my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at Cricket Wireless?
Position yourself for roles in network engineering, software, or IT where sponsorship is most common. Be transparent about your immigration needs early in the process and frame it as a long-term commitment to the company. Demonstrating deep telecommunications expertise and showing genuine interest in the business strengthens your case with hiring managers weighing the sponsorship decision.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Cricket Wireless?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
