Align your credentials to EB-2 or EB-3
Engineering and design roles at Eps typically fall under EB-2 if they require an advanced degree or EB-3 for positions requiring a bachelor's degree. Pull your transcripts and credential evaluations early so you know which pathway your role qualifies for before the offer stage.
Research Eps's prevailing wage obligations
Before negotiating your offer, run the relevant SOC code for your engineering or design role through the OFLC Wage Search. Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for PERM certification to proceed, and knowing the threshold gives you a realistic benchmark during hiring discussions.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Most Green Card filings at Eps Engineering & Design will start with PERM, which requires DOL to certify no qualified U.S. workers were available. Recruitment steps typically take several months before DOL even receives the application, so raise sponsorship expectations with your hiring manager well before your start date.
Verify your occupation qualifies as a specialty role
Green Card sponsorship in consulting and engineering firms is strongest for roles with a direct degree requirement tied to the position. Check your job title against O*NET to confirm the occupation's typical education level and ensure your duties match the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies during I-140 adjudication.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Eps's sponsorship history
Before applying, search Eps Engineering & Design on Migrate Mate to review their Green Card filing history by role and visa category. This tells you which departments have sponsored before, helping you target the teams most likely to support a future Green Card petition rather than discovering their policy post-offer.
Request a written sponsorship commitment at the offer stage
Consulting firms like Eps often make sponsorship decisions project-by-project or tied to billability. Ask HR directly whether Green Card sponsorship is available for your specific role and get any commitment documented in your offer letter before you sign, so expectations are clear from day one.
Eps Engineering & Design Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Eps Engineering & Design sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Eps Engineering & Design sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The firm files under EB-2 and EB-3 categories, primarily for engineering and design professionals. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific roles and depends on the position's degree requirements and the employee's performance within the firm.
Which roles at Eps Engineering & Design typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Eps Engineering & Design is most common in technical engineering and design positions where a specific degree is required for the role. Project engineers, electrical designers, and specialty consultants are the profiles most aligned with EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility. Roles that map cleanly to a defined SOC code with a direct degree requirement tend to move through PERM most smoothly.
How do I start the Green Card process at Eps Engineering & Design?
The process typically begins with an internal conversation with HR or your manager about sponsorship eligibility. From there, Eps works with an immigration attorney to run the PERM labor certification through DOL, then files an I-140 petition with USCIS. Starting this conversation early, ideally in your first year, gives you the most time before any F-1 OPT or TN visa status deadlines create pressure.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Eps Engineering & Design?
The PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL processing times and whether an audit is triggered. After PERM approval, USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition, and priority date backlogs may add years for applicants born in high-demand countries. Planning two to five years from first filing to approval is a realistic baseline for most Eps employees.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Eps Engineering & Design?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at employers with verified Green Card sponsorship history, including Eps Engineering & Design, so you can filter specifically for positions where sponsorship has been filed before. You should also monitor Eps's careers page directly and flag your interest in Green Card sponsorship during recruiter screenings to avoid surprises after an offer is extended.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Eps Engineering & Design?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
