Target roles with established sponsorship history
FedEx Freight's strongest Green Card track record is in operations, logistics technology, and engineering. Focus your applications on departments where the company has demonstrated consistent sponsorship rather than roles where it's rare or case-by-case.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Green Card sponsorship at FedEx Freight typically begins with PERM, where the company must advertise the role and demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Expect this stage alone to take several months before your I-140 petition is filed.
Raise sponsorship early in the hiring process
Don't wait until an offer to confirm Green Card sponsorship. Ask directly during recruiter screens whether the specific role and team have a history of sponsoring permanent residency, not just work visas like H-1B or E-3.
Leverage Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history
Before applying, confirm FedEx Freight's actual Green Card filing history. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid wasting applications on roles unlikely to lead to permanent residency.
Align your background with consulting and professional services needs
FedEx Freight operates within consulting and professional services structures. Candidates whose skills address supply chain optimization, freight technology, or operational efficiency are better positioned to secure Green Card sponsorship in competitive hiring cycles.
Get your documents and employment history in order early
PERM and I-140 filings require detailed employment records, degree credentials, and sometimes foreign credential evaluations. Preparing these documents before an offer shortens delays once FedEx Freight initiates the Green Card process on your behalf.
FedEx Freight Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does FedEx Freight sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, FedEx Freight does sponsor Green Card visas. The company files Green Card petitions for qualifying employees, typically through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories. Sponsorship is most common in technical, engineering, and operations roles rather than across all departments or job levels.
Which roles and departments at FedEx Freight are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at FedEx Freight is most common in roles tied to logistics technology, supply chain operations, software engineering, and data systems. Corporate and professional services positions with specialized skill requirements are also candidates. Front-line or hourly positions are unlikely to be sponsored for permanent residency.
How does the Green Card application process work at FedEx Freight?
FedEx Freight typically sponsors Green Cards through the PERM labor certification route, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS under EB-2 or EB-3. The company's legal or HR team manages the process, but you'll need to provide employment history, education credentials, and other supporting documentation throughout.
How long does the Green Card process take at FedEx Freight?
The full process from PERM filing to receiving a Green Card can take several years, depending on your country of birth and the visa category. PERM alone takes six months to a year. For applicants born in countries with high demand, like India or China, priority date backlogs can extend the wait significantly beyond initial approval.
How do I improve my chances of getting Green Card sponsorship at FedEx Freight?
Focus on roles in departments with a documented sponsorship history and be direct with recruiters about your Green Card needs during screening. Migrate Mate can help you identify which FedEx Freight positions are realistically tied to sponsorship activity. Coming in on an H-1B visa or E-3 visa first often creates a clearer path to Green Card sponsorship over time.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at FedEx Freight?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
