Target roles matching PERM labor certification requirements
Hazen and Sawyer's Green Card filings typically support technical consulting roles where specialized credentials are non-negotiable. Research DOL's PERM requirements early so your resume and certifications align with the minimum requirements the firm must document for labor certification.
Distinguish your EB-2 NIW eligibility from EB-3
Water and environmental engineers with advanced degrees may qualify for EB-2, bypassing PERM entirely through a National Interest Waiver. If your work addresses critical infrastructure or public health outcomes, document that impact now. EB-3 remains the fallback for roles requiring only a bachelor's degree.
Verify your wage alignment before the offer stage
PERM requires Hazen and Sawyer to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location. Before negotiating your offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your expected salary clears the DOL wage level for your occupation code and metropolitan area.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Hazen and Sawyer sponsorship history
Pull Hazen and Sawyer's LCA filing history through Migrate Mate to see which job titles and office locations the firm has filed for previously. That data tells you which teams have active sponsorship precedent before you invest time applying.
Raise Green Card intent during final interview rounds
Consulting firms like Hazen and Sawyer prefer to discuss immigration sponsorship after a verbal offer, not during early screening. Prepare a concise summary of your visa status, your H-1B visa expiration timeline, and your Green Card stage to share with HR once an offer is on the table.
Gather occupation evidence using O*NET before your PERM audit
PERM audits require precise documentation of job duties and required credentials. Review your role's O*NET occupation profile early and ensure your employment records, project documentation, and degree transcripts directly match the duties and requirements Hazen and Sawyer will list in the labor certification application.
HAZEN AND SAWYER Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does HAZEN AND SAWYER sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Hazen and Sawyer sponsors Green Card visas for qualified international employees, primarily in engineering and environmental consulting roles. The firm files through employer-sponsored categories including EB-2 and EB-3, with sponsorship decisions made on a case-by-case basis depending on the role, office location, and the employee's existing visa status.
Which roles at HAZEN AND SAWYER typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Hazen and Sawyer is most common in technical disciplines including civil, environmental, and water resources engineering, as well as project management and environmental science roles. Positions requiring specialized graduate-level credentials or licensed professional engineer status tend to have the strongest sponsorship track record across the firm's U.S. offices.
How do I start the Green Card process at HAZEN AND SAWYER?
Sponsorship typically begins after you've established yourself in a role and your manager and HR team confirm the firm will support your case. Hazen and Sawyer works with outside immigration counsel to initiate PERM labor certification through DOL, which establishes that no qualified U.S. worker is available before your petition advances to USCIS for approval.
How long does the Green Card process take at HAZEN AND SAWYER?
Total timelines vary significantly depending on your nationality, the EB category, and current USCIS processing speeds. PERM alone can take six months to over a year, and priority date backlogs through USCIS add further delays for applicants from high-demand countries. Starting conversations with HR early in your employment gives you the most runway to manage these timelines.
How do I find open Green Card sponsorship jobs at HAZEN AND SAWYER?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified sponsorship history, so you can identify Hazen and Sawyer openings where Green Card filing precedent exists for that role type. Cross-reference those listings with the firm's active postings to prioritize applications in departments and locations with established sponsorship patterns rather than applying broadly across the company.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at HAZEN AND SAWYER?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
