Job Roles at Kiewit
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Kiewit Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and project delivery roles
Kiewit's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in technical roles, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, along with project managers. Focusing your application on these functions gives you the strongest alignment with where sponsorship actually happens.
Signal long-term commitment early
Kiewit sponsors Green Cards for employees it views as long-term contributors. In interviews and applications, emphasize your interest in multi-year project involvement and career growth within the energy and infrastructure space, not just the immediate role.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Green Card sponsorship at a company like Kiewit typically begins with PERM labor certification, which can take a year or more before an I-140 petition is filed. Setting realistic timeline expectations from day one helps you plan your status strategically.
Ask about sponsorship policy during the offer stage
Not every Kiewit role comes with Green Card sponsorship guaranteed. The right time to clarify sponsorship eligibility is during the offer negotiation stage, when both sides are invested and the conversation is more productive.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Kiewit openings
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history. Searching Kiewit specifically lets you identify which roles and locations have active Green Card-eligible openings rather than applying broadly and hoping.
Build tenure before initiating the Green Card process
At large energy contractors like Kiewit, Green Card sponsorship is typically initiated after a period of demonstrated performance. Prioritizing strong project contributions in your first year puts you in a better position when the sponsorship conversation begins.

Does Kiewit sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Kiewit sponsors Green Card visas for qualified employees, particularly in engineering, construction management, and technical project roles. Sponsorship is most common for workers who have already demonstrated strong performance on the job. It is not automatically offered at hiring but is part of Kiewit's longer-term talent retention approach in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Which roles and departments at Kiewit are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Kiewit is most concentrated in engineering disciplines, civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical, along with project management and field operations leadership. Roles tied to large-scale energy and infrastructure projects tend to be the strongest candidates, as those positions reflect specialized skills Kiewit has ongoing demand to retain.
How does the Green Card application process work at Kiewit?
Kiewit typically pursues the employment-based Green Card process, which begins with PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. Once certified, an I-140 immigrant petition is filed with USCIS. After approval, the employee either adjusts status in the U.S. or goes through consular processing abroad. The process is managed with support from Kiewit's immigration counsel.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Kiewit?
The timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the employment-based preference category. PERM labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months. For applicants born in countries with high visa demand, the total wait can extend significantly beyond that due to priority date backlogs. Applicants born outside high-demand countries often see faster timelines once the I-140 is approved.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Kiewit?
The most effective approach is to search for Kiewit roles specifically filtered by Green Card sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you do exactly that, showing verified sponsorship data so you can focus on openings where Green Card support is part of the employment track. Targeting roles in Kiewit's energy and heavy construction divisions gives you the best alignment with their sponsorship patterns.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Kiewit?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
