Align your credentials with EB-2 or EB-3
MasTec typically sponsors engineers and project managers under EB-2 for roles requiring advanced degrees, and EB-3 for skilled trade and technical positions. Know which category fits your background before applying, as PERM labor certification requirements differ substantially between them.
Target roles in infrastructure project delivery
MasTec's Green Card sponsorship concentrates in divisions handling power delivery, pipeline, and telecom construction. Applying for project engineer, field superintendent, or construction manager roles puts you in the teams most likely to have established Green Card sponsorship pipelines.
Document your prevailing wage position early
Before your offer stage, use the OFLC Wage Search to check prevailing wage levels for your occupation and location. MasTec must pay at or above the DOL prevailing wage throughout the PERM process, so understanding this figure helps you evaluate whether an offer is sponsorship-viable.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment history file
PERM labor certification requires detailed documentation of your qualifications and work history. Gather transcripts, foreign credential evaluations if applicable, employment letters, and professional licenses well before your start date. Gaps or ambiguous credentials can delay DOL processing by months.
Use Migrate Mate to find MasTec's active sponsorship roles
Migrate Mate surfaces employer LCA and Green Card filing history by role and location, so you can see exactly which MasTec positions have active sponsorship activity before you apply. This lets you prioritize applications where sponsorship is already part of the hiring workflow.
Negotiate Green Card sponsorship terms at the offer stage
Large construction firms like MasTec typically have immigration counsel on retainer, but sponsorship isn't automatic for every hire. Ask explicitly during the offer stage whether the role includes PERM filing and at what point in your tenure the process typically begins.
MasTec Inc Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does MasTec Inc sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, MasTec Inc sponsors Green Card visas for qualified employees. The company files under both EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories, primarily for engineering, project management, and skilled technical roles across its construction and infrastructure divisions. Sponsorship is typically offered after a candidate is established in a qualifying position.
Which roles at MasTec Inc are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at MasTec most commonly supports roles in civil and electrical engineering, project management, estimating, and field supervision. These positions align with EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility and appear across MasTec's power delivery, pipeline, and telecommunications business segments.
How do I start the Green Card process at MasTec Inc?
The process typically starts with PERM labor certification filed by MasTec with the DOL, which involves demonstrating that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is certified, MasTec files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Your involvement is mainly in providing documentation of your qualifications and work history.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at MasTec Inc?
The full timeline depends on your country of birth and the visa preference category. PERM certification alone can take six to eighteen months. After I-140 approval, nationals from high-demand countries like India or China may face years-long waits due to priority date backlogs. USCIS publishes monthly Visa Bulletins tracking current wait times by category and country.
How do I find Green Card jobs at MasTec Inc?
Migrate Mate lets you filter for MasTec roles with verified Green Card sponsorship history, so you can target positions where the company has already run the PERM and I-140 process for similar roles. Focusing your applications on those specific teams and job titles improves your chances of entering a hiring pipeline where sponsorship is already established.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at MasTec Inc?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
