We’re looking for an experienced ads product counsel with deep global privacy knowledge to lead our growing ads product counsel function globally. You will directly advise Reddit’s Ads Product & Engineering teams and Reddit leadership as we rapidly launch new ads products in an evolving legal landscape. What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of ads lawyers supporting Reddit’s Ads Product, Ads Engineering, and Monetization org.
- Act as a player-coach, directly counseling and providing strategic advice to business leadership and Reddit's C-Suite on our most mission-critical ads product initiatives, such as Reddit Max, search and dynamic product ads, identity & signals, targeting, measurement, and brand safety products.
- Advise Reddit’s Ads Policy teams on how to scale across emerging verticals and global markets.
- Develop and drive a coherent legal strategy and risk framework for ads products globally, aligning with Privacy, Regulatory, and Commercial Legal on risk appetite, escalation paths, and documentation standards.

- Deep familiarity with privacy and data protection frameworks relevant to ads globally (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, U.S. state privacy laws, children’s/sensitive data, and self-regulatory regimes) and substantial focus on measurement, targeting, ad tech, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of online advertising ecosystems (platforms, Pixels/ CAPI, MMPs, data clean rooms, measurement vendors) and how data moves through them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to distill complex technical and legal issues into crisp, actionable guidance and decision docs.
- Proven ability to set a clear legal strategy, influence senior cross-functional leaders, and drive alignment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Target roles tied to PERM-eligible occupations
Reddit's strongest Green Card activity sits in software engineering, data science, and machine learning roles. Before applying, verify your target job title maps to an occupation with a clear degree requirement in a specific field, since PERM requires DOL to certify no qualified U.S. workers are available.
Understand which EB pathway fits your profile
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability and skips PERM if you qualify for a National Interest Waiver. EB-3 covers bachelor's-level roles but always requires PERM. At Reddit, most sponsored engineers fall under EB-2, while specialist individual contributor roles may land in EB-3.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search early
PERM requires Reddit to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location. Run your job title through OFLC Wage Search before negotiating an offer. If your offered salary falls below the Level II or III prevailing wage, PERM certification becomes harder to secure.
Ask about Green Card timing during the offer stage
Reddit typically initiates Green Card sponsorship after one year of employment, but timelines vary by team and headcount approval. Ask your recruiter whether your specific role has a sponsorship track and whether the team has sponsored the same job title in the past twelve months.
Document your specialized contributions during the first year
PERM job descriptions must reflect duties no readily available U.S. worker can perform. In media and entertainment, that means documenting Reddit-specific systems, proprietary ad platforms, or community health tooling you build or maintain, so your employer's attorney can write a defensible job description.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Reddit's sponsorship history
Before investing time in a Reddit application, verify their Green Card filing patterns by role and department. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data and Green Card filing history so you can confirm whether your target team has an active sponsorship track before your first interview.
Reddit, Inc. Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Reddit, Inc. sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Reddit sponsors Green Cards for qualifying employees, primarily in technical and product roles. Sponsorship typically begins after an initial employment period and follows either the EB-2 or EB-3 pathway depending on the role's degree requirements. Reddit handles sponsorship through outside immigration counsel once you meet internal eligibility thresholds.
Which departments at Reddit typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Software engineering, data science, machine learning, trust and safety, and product management are the departments where Reddit's Green Card sponsorship is most concentrated. Roles requiring specialized technical skills tied to Reddit's core platform, advertising systems, or content moderation infrastructure tend to have the clearest sponsorship track.
How do I start the Green Card process at Reddit?
After meeting your employer's internal eligibility period, Reddit's immigration team or outside counsel initiates a PERM labor certification with DOL. This involves a supervised recruitment process, a prevailing wage determination, and filing with USCIS once PERM is certified. Your role in the process is providing employment history, education credentials, and supporting documentation.
How long does Reddit's Green Card process take?
The full timeline from PERM filing to a Green Card in hand typically runs three to five years for most nationalities, though applicants from countries with visa backlogs face significantly longer waits. PERM certification alone can take six to eighteen months depending on DOL processing times and whether an audit is triggered.
How do I find open Green Card roles at Reddit?
Migrate Mate lists Reddit job openings filtered by Green Card sponsorship history, so you can identify roles where sponsorship has been filed for the same job title before. Cross-reference open positions with Reddit's engineering and product teams on their careers page, and prioritize roles in departments with the strongest documented sponsorship activity.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Reddit, Inc.?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
