Target engineering and R&D roles
Valeo's Green Card sponsorships concentrate in technical disciplines like electrical engineering, software development, and systems integration. Roles tied to its core automotive technology divisions, including ADAS and electrification, are where permanent residency support is most common.
Start the conversation during the offer stage
Green Card sponsorship at Valeo is best raised when negotiating your offer, not months into employment. Asking directly whether the role is eligible for PERM sponsorship signals seriousness and gives HR time to confirm internal policy before you accept.
Understand the PERM labor certification process
Valeo typically sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories, both of which require PERM labor certification. This means your employer must document that no qualified U.S. workers were available for your specific role before sponsoring you.
Use H-1B status as a bridge to permanent residency
Many Valeo employees begin on H-1B visas before transitioning to Green Card sponsorship. If you're already on H-1B at Valeo, discuss initiating PERM early, since priority date backlogs for some nationalities can add years to the overall timeline.
Focus on specialized, hard-to-fill positions
Green Card sponsorship requires employers to demonstrate a genuine talent need. Roles requiring niche automotive expertise, advanced degrees, or specialized certifications in areas like functional safety or embedded systems are stronger candidates for Valeo's sponsorship support.
Find verified Valeo openings on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history. Searching Valeo there helps you identify which open roles have historically led to Green Card filings, giving you a more targeted starting point than general job boards.
Valeo Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Valeo sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Valeo sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees in the United States. Sponsorship is concentrated in technical and engineering roles across its automotive technology divisions. Valeo files through employment-based categories, primarily EB-2 and EB-3, and has maintained a consistent pattern of Green Card support for foreign national employees over time.
Which roles and departments at Valeo are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Valeo is most common in engineering, research and development, software, and advanced systems roles. Positions tied to ADAS, electrification, lighting, and thermal management, which sit at the core of Valeo's product portfolio, tend to have the strongest sponsorship track record. Corporate and operational roles are less frequently sponsored.
How does the Green Card application process work at Valeo?
Valeo's Green Card process typically follows the PERM labor certification route. The company, working with immigration counsel, files a PERM application with the Department of Labor to establish that no equally qualified U.S. worker was available. Once certified, Valeo files an I-140 immigrant petition. After approval, you apply to adjust status or proceed through consular processing depending on your situation.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Valeo?
Timeline depends heavily on your nationality and the employment-based category used. PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year. If your priority date is current, the full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can take one to three years for most nationalities. Applicants from India or China face significantly longer waits due to visa backlogs.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Valeo that include sponsorship?
Valeo's career site lists open U.S. positions, but it does not always indicate which roles include Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate is a useful starting point because it filters job listings by verified sponsorship history, letting you identify Valeo roles where Green Card support is more likely based on the company's actual filing patterns rather than job description language alone.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Valeo?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
