Target field operations and seasonal crews
Groundworks primarily sponsors workers for hands-on roles in foundation repair, crawl space encapsulation, and drainage installation. Focus your application on field-based positions, where the company's seasonal workforce needs are strongest and H-2B sponsorship is most likely to apply.
Understand the H-2B seasonal model
H-2B visas are tied to temporary or seasonal labor demand. Groundworks typically hires for peak seasons, so timing your application to align with high-demand periods in your target region gives you the best chance of being included in a sponsorship petition.
Search by verified sponsorship history, not just job titles
Many facilities and property services employers post jobs without clarifying visa support. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm Groundworks is actively filing before investing time in the application process.
Identify which service divisions are hiring across states
Groundworks operates regional brands across multiple U.S. states. Check which local divisions are expanding, as H-2B petitions are location-specific and your target geography will affect both availability and the timing of sponsorship filings with the Department of Labor.
Prepare documentation that demonstrates trade-level experience
H-2B roles at Groundworks require demonstrable hands-on experience in construction or property services. Gather references, employment records, and any relevant certifications before applying, as employers filing H-2B petitions need to show workers meet the qualifications for the specific position.
Apply early to account for government processing lead times
H-2B petitions require Department of Labor certification before USCIS filing, adding weeks to the timeline. Groundworks must begin the process well before your intended start date, so reaching out and applying early in the hiring cycle significantly improves your chances of being included.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Groundworks sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Groundworks does not have a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas. The company's visa sponsorship activity is concentrated in the H-2B visa category, which supports temporary seasonal workers in skilled trades and field operations roles. Job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship should explore employers in sectors with stronger professional visa hiring patterns.
What visa types does Groundworks sponsor?
Groundworks sponsors H-2B visas, which are designed for temporary or seasonal non-agricultural workers. This aligns with the company's core business in foundation repair, crawl space services, and drainage installation, where seasonal demand drives the need for additional skilled field workers. Sponsorship is employer-initiated, so positions must be tied to a certified Department of Labor petition.
How do I find open roles at Groundworks that include visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search on Migrate Mate, which tracks verified H-2B sponsorship activity and surfaces employers with a confirmed filing history. Look for field operations and installation roles, as these are the positions most likely to be tied to Groundworks H-2B petitions. Applying through channels that confirm sponsorship upfront saves time and avoids uncertainty.
How do I know if a Groundworks job listing includes H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B sponsorship is not always stated in job listings, which creates confusion for applicants. The sponsorship is tied to a government-certified petition for a specific location and role, not to every open position. Reviewing Groundworks's verified filing history and confirming with the hiring team early in the process is the most effective way to determine whether a specific role is covered.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Groundworks?
Prioritize roles in field operations, installation, and repair, as these are the departments most consistently tied to Groundworks's H-2B petitions. Apply as early as possible in the hiring season, since H-2B filings have strict government deadlines. Having documented trade experience, strong references, and a clear employment history in facilities or property services will strengthen your application significantly.
