Under immediate to close supervision, serves internal/external customers by providing product and service information, and resolving product and service problems.

• Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
• Builds positive relationships with co-workers, management, internal & external customers.
• Maintains financial accounts by processing customer credit requests expediently.
• Updates and maintains order & complaint logs.
• Maintains customer records by updating account information as necessary.
• Processes orders successfully.
• Communicates effectively with internal / external customers in person, on the phone, and through email.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs standard tasks using established methods, principles, concepts & procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 – 3 years Customer Service experience. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Experience with a food manufacturer / marketer preferred.
• Successful completion of Customer Service Certification Program during the first 18 months of employment.
• Ability and desire to learn.
• Ability to balance conflict and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to multi-task effectively, listen effectively, and have solid general business knowledge.
• Proven computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP preferred).
• Ability to operate standard office equipment (fax, copier).

Job Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and credits.
• Prepare company driver invoices.
• Receive and/or place customer contact calls.
• Maintain daily log of retail Maseca orders.
• Contact outside carriers to arrange transportation.
• Assist with filing completed sale documents and invoices.
• Maintain Excel file on freight expenses and on-time deliveries by the carrier.
• Maintain daily dispatch log on company drivers’ activity.
• Contact customers to schedule delivery appointment times.
• Enter all freight charges in the on-time deliveries web site.
• Provide administrative support to the Distribution & Imports Logistics Manager and to the Warehouse.
• Update information in SAP and Excel reports.
• Regular and timely attendance is a job requirement for all employees.
