Target engineering and technical roles
Allan Myers's H-1B sponsorships concentrate in specialty occupations like civil engineering, structural engineering, and construction management. Applying to roles with clear degree requirements in a specific field gives your H-1B petition the strongest foundation for approval.
Engage the recruiter about sponsorship early
During your first recruiter conversation, confirm Allan Myers will sponsor H-1B for the specific role you're applying for. Construction firms sometimes differentiate between positions eligible for sponsorship and those reserved for local candidates, so clarity upfront saves time.
Demonstrate project-specific technical expertise
Allan Myers works on large-scale infrastructure and civil construction projects. Candidates who can speak directly to highway, bridge, or heavy civil experience signal faster time-to-value, which strengthens the business case employers must make when committing to H-1B sponsorship.
Understand the H-1B cap and lottery timing
If you're not currently in H-1B status, Allan Myers would need to enter you in the annual lottery. Registrations open in March and cap-subject petitions take effect October 1. Plan your job search timeline around this cycle to avoid misaligned expectations.
Search for verified H-1B sponsors before applying broadly
Not every construction company openly advertises sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Allan Myers and similar employers who have an active H-1B track record.
Align your credentials with U.S. specialty occupation standards
H-1B approval requires that your role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that your degree directly relates to it. For construction roles at Allan Myers, a degree in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering typically satisfies this requirement more cleanly than a general business degree.
Allan Myers H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Allan Myers sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Allan Myers sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established sponsorship history, primarily supporting engineers and technical professionals working on its construction and infrastructure projects. Sponsorship availability can vary by role and business need, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is advisable.
Which roles and departments at Allan Myers typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Allan Myers tends to concentrate in roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, including civil engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, and construction project managers. These positions require a directly related bachelor's degree or higher, which is the core legal requirement for H-1B classification.
How do I apply for a job at Allan Myers with H-1B sponsorship?
Apply directly through Allan Myers's careers page and indicate your need for H-1B sponsorship in your application or cover letter. Migrate Mate also lists verified H-1B sponsoring employers, making it easier to identify open roles and confirm sponsorship before applying. Once hired, Allan Myers's legal team or an outside immigration attorney handles the H-1B petition.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Allan Myers?
For cap-subject applicants, the timeline is driven by the annual lottery cycle. Registration opens in March, selections are announced in April, and petitions can be filed starting April 1 for an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, though employers decide whether to elect it.
What can I do to improve my chances of H-1B sponsorship at Allan Myers?
Focus your application on roles where your degree field directly matches the job requirements, since specialty occupation alignment is the central factor in H-1B approval. Highlighting experience on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects strengthens the employer's business case for sponsorship. Arriving in the process with OPT or another work-authorized status can also reduce urgency around lottery timing.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Allan Myers?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
