Target corporate functions over store roles
H-1B sponsorship at Bass Pro Shops flows almost entirely through corporate headquarters and support center functions, not retail floor positions. Focus your applications on IT, finance, merchandising analytics, and supply chain roles listed under the Springfield, Missouri home office.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC prevailing wages
Before negotiating an offer, run your target job title through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the prevailing wage for your occupation and location. H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, so knowing this number protects you if the initial offer comes in low.
Confirm specialty occupation fit using O*NET
Retail-adjacent roles at Bass Pro Shops can face H-1B scrutiny if the job description reads as generalist rather than specialist. Pull the O*NET profile for your occupation and verify it lists a bachelor's degree in a specific field as the standard entry requirement before you apply.
Ask about sponsorship policy during the first recruiter call
Don't wait until you have an offer to raise H-1B sponsorship. Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific role and department you're targeting has a history of sponsoring work visas. Getting a clear answer early saves weeks of time if the team doesn't have a sponsorship budget.
Use Migrate Mate to track Bass Pro Shops LCA filings
Migrate Mate surfaces Labor Condition Application data by employer, so you can see which job titles and locations Bass Pro Shops has historically filed for. Use that data to prioritize roles with a demonstrated sponsorship track record before you submit your application.
Build your H-1B timeline around the April cap filing window
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from Bass Pro Shops outside that window, your start date will be delayed until the next fiscal year. Factor this into your job search timeline and any OPT or grace period deadlines.
Bass Pro Shops H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bass Pro Shops sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Bass Pro Shops does sponsor H-1B visas. Sponsorship is concentrated in corporate and technology functions at its headquarters and support centers rather than in retail store operations. Roles in IT, finance, supply chain, and merchandising analytics are the most likely candidates for H-1B sponsorship at the company.
Which departments at Bass Pro Shops are most likely to sponsor H-1B visas?
Corporate departments with specialized skill requirements are the strongest bets. Technology, data and analytics, finance, and supply chain teams at Bass Pro Shops have the clearest path to H-1B sponsorship because these roles typically satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard. General retail management and customer-facing positions rarely qualify for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I know if a specific Bass Pro Shops role qualifies for H-1B sponsorship?
Check whether the job posting requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field as a minimum, not just a preference. You can cross-reference the occupation against O*NET to confirm the degree requirement is standard for the role. Migrate Mate also lets you filter Bass Pro Shops job listings by roles that have a prior LCA filing history, narrowing your search to positions with proven sponsorship precedent.
What is the H-1B application process like at Bass Pro Shops?
Once you have an offer, Bass Pro Shops works with an immigration attorney to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then petition USCIS with Form I-129. If you're subject to the annual cap, the registration window opens each March and a lottery determines selection. Cap-exempt transitions, such as moving from OPT, follow the same petition process but aren't subject to lottery timing.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Bass Pro Shops?
Standard USCIS processing for an H-1B petition typically runs several months. Bass Pro Shops can opt for premium processing, which speeds USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, though the employer makes that call. If you're entering through the annual cap, you'll also need to account for the March registration period and an October 1 start date.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Bass Pro Shops?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
