Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Henry Ford Health's H-1B filings are concentrated in clinical and technical roles that require a specific degree field. Pull your target job title's O*NET profile and confirm your degree field matches before applying, a mismatch in credentials is the most common reason petitions get challenged.
Research Henry Ford Health's active LCA filings
Before your interview, search the OFLC Wage Search for Henry Ford Health's certified Labor Condition Applications. This shows you which roles they've recently sponsored, the prevailing wage tier used, and which facilities have active filings, useful context when discussing compensation and your specific work location.
Target departments with established sponsorship history
Henry Ford Health's H-1B sponsorship is strongest in physician specialties, nursing, pharmacy, and health IT. Applying to departments where international hiring is routine means your recruiter and HR team already understand the process, which shortens the internal approval chain considerably.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role and department have budget approval for H-1B sponsorship before accepting an offer. At large health systems, hiring decisions and immigration budgets are managed at the department level, so confirmation from HR alone isn't always sufficient.
Use Migrate Mate to check Henry Ford Health's filing history
Search Henry Ford Health on Migrate Mate to see their verified DOL Labor Condition Application data filtered by occupation code. This lets you identify which roles and locations they sponsor most actively, so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is an established pattern rather than a one-off request.
Prepare for the cap season filing window
If you're not already in H-1B status, your petition falls under the annual cap with an April 1 filing window. Confirm your offer letter and all employment details are finalized by mid-March so Henry Ford Health's immigration counsel has enough lead time to prepare and file accurately before the deadline.
Henry Ford Health H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Henry Ford Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Henry Ford Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying specialty occupation roles across its health system. Sponsorship is most consistently available for physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and health IT professionals. Sponsorship decisions are made at the department level, so confirming with the hiring team for your specific role is the right first step.
Which roles and departments at Henry Ford Health typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Henry Ford Health is most common in clinical medicine including hospitalists, specialists, and surgeons, as well as pharmacy, nursing, and clinical informatics. Research and academic medicine roles also appear regularly. Administrative or non-clinical positions are less frequently sponsored unless they require a specific technical degree field.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Henry Ford Health?
Once you have a written offer, Henry Ford Health works with outside immigration counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and then the I-129 petition with USCIS. Your role is to provide credential documentation, degree certificates, and employment history. The internal process typically begins after offer acceptance, so clarify sponsorship before signing.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Henry Ford Health?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS currently runs several months after the cap lottery in April. Henry Ford Health can request premium processing to receive a decision within a defined business day window, which many clinical employers use when a start date is time-sensitive. Confirm with HR whether premium processing is covered for your role.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at Henry Ford Health?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at Henry Ford Health filtered by their verified H-1B LCA filing history, so you can see which positions are actively sponsored rather than guessing. You can also search USCIS for petition data by employer to understand which occupations have been approved historically before targeting your application to the right department.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Henry Ford Health?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
