About The Role
Hinge Health builds digital care for musculoskeletal conditions, the leading driver of disability and healthcare cost in the US. Our members are people living with chronic or acute pain, often navigating a healthcare system that was not designed for them. The research questions here are not abstract: understanding who our members are, what they expect from care, and where the experience breaks down has direct consequences for whether someone gets better. This is a Senior UX Researcher role on a small, high-ownership team embedded within R&D. You will own research across one or more product pods, working directly with product managers, designers, and clinical partners to turn ambiguous questions into clear directions. The team is lean by design, which means your work will be visible and your judgment will carry real weight.
What you'll accomplish
- Own end-to-end research across one or more product pods, from scoping the question through delivery and follow-through with partners
- Produce insights that directly influence product decisions, roadmap priorities, and design direction at the pod level
- Build credibility and influence with cross-functional partners, including product managers, designers, and Director-level stakeholders
- Leverage AI tools and workflows to extend research capacity across a one-to-many model—prioritizing where your time and judgment are highest-value while using AI to handle research tasks that can be systematized or accelerated
- Bring a clear point of view to product conversations, not just findings, and advocate for member needs in the decisions that follow
- Contribute to the evolution of the research team's practices, tools, and ways of working
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience conducting user research, with demonstrated experience leading qualitative studies independently from planning through delivery
- Experience presenting research findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Experience working as an embedded researcher within a product development team
- Survey design: Experience designing unbiased surveys, including neutral question framing, validated scales, and appropriate response option construction
- Qualitative research methods: Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct high-quality qualitative studies (moderated interviews, usability sessions, diary studies) with rigorous synthesis
- Quantitative and statistical literacy: Familiarity with statistical methods used to evaluate research data (significance testing, confidence intervals, descriptive statistics) and the ability to integrate quantitative signals with qualitative findings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital health, healthcare technology, or a clinical-adjacent product domain
- Familiarity with mixed-method research approaches that combine qualitative and quantitative sources
- Experience using remote research platforms such as Dscout or UserTesting
- Prior contributions to research team practices, toolkits, or research operations
- Experience working on a small or embedded research team with significant individual ownership

Target technical and clinical roles first
Hinge Health's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, data science, and clinical specialist roles. Applying to these departments gives you the strongest chance of landing a position where sponsorship is an established part of the hiring process.
Understand the healthcare technology context
Hinge Health operates at the intersection of digital health and musculoskeletal care. Roles requiring specialized knowledge in healthcare technology, clinical data, or regulated software environments are where H-1B sponsorship is most justified and most commonly approved by the company.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying
Not every open role at Hinge Health comes with H-1B sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsoring employers and confirmed visa-eligible positions, so you're not investing time in applications that won't support your status.
Align your degree to the specialty occupation standard
H-1B approval requires that your role qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific degree field is normally required. For Hinge Health, this typically means computer science, clinical health, biostatistics, or a directly related discipline, not a general degree.
Engage early in the interview process about sponsorship
Raise your H-1B situation early, ideally during the recruiter screen. Hinge Health's talent teams are familiar with the process, but you want to confirm internal approval for sponsorship before investing in multiple interview rounds.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
If you're not already on an H-1B, cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October start. Coordinate your offer timeline with Hinge Health's recruiting team so the petition is ready to submit when USCIS opens the registration window.
Hinge Health H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hinge Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Hinge Health sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is most common in technical functions including software engineering, data science, and product, as well as clinical and health operations roles that require specialized credentials. Not every open position includes sponsorship, so confirming eligibility with the recruiter early in the process is essential.
Which roles and departments at Hinge Health typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Hinge Health is most reliably attached to engineering, data science, clinical operations, and product roles. These positions align closely with the specialty occupation standard because they require specific degree fields. Roles in general operations, sales, or customer support are less likely to qualify for or receive H-1B sponsorship.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Hinge Health?
Once Hinge Health extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, the company works with an immigration attorney to prepare and file the H-1B petition on your behalf. You'll provide documentation including your degree credentials, passport details, and employment information. The employer covers the filing and handles USCIS communication throughout the process.
How do I find H-1B sponsored jobs at Hinge Health?
Migrate Mate surfaces verified H-1B sponsors, including Hinge Health, with filtering by visa type and sponsorship history. This lets you focus your search on roles where sponsorship is confirmed rather than self-reported. Checking Hinge Health's careers page directly alongside Migrate Mate gives you the most complete view of current openings.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Hinge Health?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, registration opens in March and the employment start date is October 1 at the earliest. From offer to work authorization can take six months or longer. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, Hinge Health can file a portability petition and you may be able to start sooner, pending USCIS receipt.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Hinge Health?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
