Job Roles at JPMorganChase
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in JPMorganChase H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technology and quant roles first
JPMorganChase's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, data science, and quantitative research. These functions have the deepest sponsorship infrastructure and the most consistent hiring of international candidates across the firm.
Apply through JPMorganChase's direct careers portal
JPMorganChase posts H-1B-eligible roles on its own careers site. Applying directly, rather than through third-party aggregators, puts your application into the firm's official pipeline and ensures recruiters see your intent from the start.
Be upfront about your visa status early
JPMorganChase's recruiting teams are experienced with H-1B processes. Disclosing your sponsorship need early avoids late-stage surprises and lets recruiters route your application to the correct HR and legal teams from the beginning.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship before applying
Not every JPMorganChase role will come with an H-1B offer. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship history so you can focus on roles and teams where international hiring is an established pattern, saving you time and effort.
Leverage JPMorganChase's size across business lines
As a holding company with multiple business lines including investment banking, asset management, and consumer banking, JPMorganChase has sponsorship activity across many divisions. Expanding your search across business units increases your chances of finding a sponsored role.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas and is one of the more active sponsors in U.S. financial services. Sponsorship is concentrated in technology, quantitative finance, and data-heavy roles, though other functions across the firm's many business lines do sponsor as well. Availability depends on the specific team, role, and hiring cycle.
Which roles and departments at JPMorganChase typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
Software engineering, data science, quantitative research, and cybersecurity see the most consistent H-1B sponsorship at JPMorganChase. Finance, risk, and compliance roles in the investment banking and asset management divisions also sponsor, though less frequently. Roles that require a specialized degree and directly apply that training tend to qualify most cleanly under H-1B specialty occupation criteria.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at JPMorganChase?
Once JPMorganChase extends an offer to an H-1B candidate, the firm's in-house immigration legal team manages the petition process. You'll be asked to provide educational credentials, employment history, and supporting documentation. JPMorganChase typically works with established immigration counsel, so candidates don't arrange their own legal representation for the initial petition.
How do I know if a specific JPMorganChase job listing includes H-1B sponsorship?
Job listings don't always state sponsorship availability explicitly. The most reliable approach is to ask the recruiter directly during your first conversation. You can also use Migrate Mate to identify JPMorganChase roles where sponsorship has historically been offered, which helps you prioritize applications before investing time in the interview process.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at JPMorganChase?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, JPMorganChase will register you in the April lottery for an October 1 start date, meaning the process spans several months from offer to authorization. If you're transferring from another H-1B employer, JPMorganChase can file a cap-exempt transfer petition, which typically processes within a few weeks to a few months depending on whether premium processing is used.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at JPMorganChase?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
