Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Humana Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target Humana's technology and data divisions first
Humana's largest sponsored roles tend to sit in software engineering, data analytics, and IT infrastructure. If your background is in technology, these divisions represent the most active sponsorship pathways into the company.
Understand Humana's full visa range before applying
Humana sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and permanent residence pathways. Knowing which category fits your background before your first conversation with a recruiter signals preparation and saves time for both sides.
Prioritize roles with a clear degree-to-job match
As a healthcare conglomerate, Humana files most sponsorships for specialty occupation roles where a specific degree field is required. Roles in clinical informatics, actuarial science, and software engineering tend to have the cleanest qualification match for visa purposes.
Start the process well before your OPT expires
Humana's HR and legal teams coordinate visa filings internally, but the process takes time. If you're on F-1 OPT, engage with recruiters at least three to four months before your authorization expires to avoid gaps in work eligibility.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified Humana sponsorship openings
Not every Humana job posting flags visa sponsorship clearly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus only on Humana roles where sponsorship has actually been offered.
Highlight healthcare-adjacent experience for Green Card pathways
Humana has a strong track record sponsoring permanent residence across EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Professionals with healthcare operations, compliance, or clinical data experience are well-positioned for employer-sponsored Green Card filings at Humana.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple years. Sponsorship is most common in technology, data science, actuarial, and clinical informatics roles where a specific degree field is required to qualify as a specialty occupation. If you're targeting an H-1B with Humana, focus your application on roles where your degree directly aligns with the job's core function.
Which visa types does Humana sponsor?
Humana sponsors a broad range of visa categories including H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for nonimmigrant work authorization. On the immigrant side, Humana actively sponsors Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. This makes Humana one of the more comprehensive sponsors in the healthcare and managed care sector, supporting candidates from early-career OPT through to permanent residence.
Which departments or roles at Humana are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Humana is most concentrated in software engineering, data analytics, cloud infrastructure, and actuarial functions. Healthcare technology and clinical informatics roles also see consistent sponsorship activity. Roles in general corporate functions, sales, or field-based positions are less commonly sponsored. Candidates with technical or quantitative backgrounds have the strongest alignment with Humana's sponsorship patterns.
How do I find currently open visa-sponsored jobs at Humana?
The most reliable way is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history and surfaces open roles at companies like Humana that have a real track record of filing. This filters out job postings that mention sponsorship vaguely with no supporting evidence, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
How do I approach the Humana application process as an international candidate?
Mention your visa status clearly and early in the application or recruiter screen. Humana has internal immigration counsel and HR processes set up to handle sponsorship, so transparency is more helpful than hesitation. Tailor your application to roles with a strong degree-to-job match, since specialty occupation eligibility is what makes H-1B sponsorship possible. Following up on timeline expectations during the offer stage is also reasonable and expected.
