Align your credentials to supply chain roles
Owens & Minor's H-1B filings concentrate in technical and analytical functions tied to healthcare distribution. Map your degree field directly to roles like supply chain analyst or logistics systems engineer before applying, since specialty occupation alignment is what USCIS evaluates first.
Research prevailing wage before salary talks
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your target role and location before you receive an offer. Owens & Minor must certify your salary meets DOL wage levels in the Labor Condition Application, so knowing the floor protects you during negotiations.
Target roles in IT and data analytics
Distribution companies like Owens & Minor increasingly sponsor H-1B workers for enterprise systems, data infrastructure, and analytics roles supporting warehouse and logistics operations. Search for titles involving ERP platforms, inventory management systems, or business intelligence in their job postings.
Verify your occupation qualifies using O*NET
Before submitting your application, cross-check your job title against O*NET to confirm it carries a Job Zone 4 or 5 classification. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for distribution sector roles, and citing O*NET data in your offer documentation strengthens the employer's petition.
Use Migrate Mate to track Owens & Minor's LCA history
Pull Owens & Minor's Labor Condition Application filing history on Migrate Mate to identify which job titles and office locations have active sponsorship patterns. This tells you which teams are actively hiring H-1B workers and which roles have the strongest precedent for approval.
Confirm sponsorship intent before the final interview
Ask the recruiter directly whether the role is open to H-1B sponsorship during the screening call, not after an offer is extended. Owens & Minor's HR teams handle sponsorship through a centralized process, so getting confirmation early prevents delays once USCIS lottery registration opens in March.
Owens & Minor H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Owens & Minor sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Owens & Minor sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established history of filing H-1B petitions for skilled roles in supply chain, information technology, and analytics functions tied to its healthcare distribution operations. Sponsorship is typically handled through corporate HR rather than at the individual hiring manager level, so confirm eligibility early in the process.
Which roles at Owens & Minor typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Owens & Minor tends to concentrate in technical and analytical positions, including supply chain analysts, enterprise systems specialists, data analysts, and IT infrastructure roles. These positions satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation requirement because they demand at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. General operations or warehouse management roles are less commonly sponsored.
How do I navigate the H-1B filing process at Owens & Minor?
Once Owens & Minor extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, their legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, then submits the I-129 petition to USCIS after the annual lottery in April. You can use Migrate Mate to review the company's LCA filing history and understand which roles and locations have the strongest sponsorship precedent before you apply.
How long does the H-1B process take at Owens & Minor?
The H-1B timeline follows the standard federal calendar. USCIS opens lottery registration in March, and selected petitions are filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Standard processing can run several months after filing. Premium processing is available for a faster decision if your start date is time-sensitive. Total time from offer to work authorization is typically six to eight months.
How do I strengthen my H-1B application for a role at Owens & Minor?
Align your degree field directly to the job description and document how your credentials satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standards. Research the prevailing wage for your role using the OFLC Wage Search so your offer letter reflects compliant compensation. Confirming that Owens & Minor has filed LCAs for similar roles in the same location also signals that your petition follows an established approval pattern.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Owens & Minor?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
