Target headquarters roles not store positions
Sally Beauty's H-1B filings concentrate in corporate functions like IT, finance, and supply chain at its Denton, Texas headquarters. Applying to store-level or regional sales roles won't lead to sponsorship, so filter your search to corporate job postings from the start.
Document your specialty occupation clearly
USCIS requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For retail corporate roles, connect your degree directly to the position's duties in your resume and any cover materials before submitting your application to Sally Beauty.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm Sally Beauty's filing history
Before investing time in Sally Beauty's application process, check Migrate Mate to review the company's H-1B filing history by role type. This helps you confirm which departments have sponsored before and whether your target function has a realistic track record.
Verify your prevailing wage tier early
Sally Beauty must pay you the prevailing wage for your role and location under DOL rules. Look up your occupation in the OFLC Wage Search before your offer stage so you can evaluate whether the compensation offer meets the required wage level for your position.
Prepare for the April lottery registration deadline
H-1B cap-subject petitions require USCIS registration in March for an October 1 start date. If Sally Beauty selects you and extends an offer, confirm their HR team understands this timeline and has immigration counsel ready to file your petition promptly after selection.
Align your degree field to retail corporate job duties
For supply chain, merchandising analytics, or IT roles at Sally Beauty, use O*NET to identify the accepted degree fields for your specific occupation code. A mismatch between your degree and the role's field is one of the most common reasons H-1B petitions receive a Request for Evidence.
Sally Beauty H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sally Beauty sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Sally Beauty does sponsor H-1B visas, primarily for corporate and technical roles at its headquarters in Denton, Texas. Sponsorship is concentrated in functions like information technology, supply chain, finance, and merchandising analytics. Store-level and field sales positions are not typically sponsored. Candidates should target corporate job postings and confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiting team during the interview process.
Which departments at Sally Beauty typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Sally Beauty is most common in IT, supply chain operations, finance, and merchandising. These corporate functions require specialized skills that align with the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions. Retail management, store operations, and customer-facing roles are generally not eligible for H-1B sponsorship because they don't consistently require a degree in a specific academic field.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Sally Beauty?
After receiving a job offer, Sally Beauty's HR team typically engages external immigration counsel to prepare and file your H-1B petition with USCIS. You'll need to provide academic credentials, employment verification, and a detailed job description supporting the specialty occupation classification. Migrate Mate can help you understand what documentation to prepare and what to expect at each stage before you begin the formal filing process.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Sally Beauty?
For cap-subject petitions, the process begins with USCIS lottery registration in March, with an employment start date of October 1 if selected. Standard USCIS processing typically runs several months, though employers can pay for premium processing to receive a decision within a shorter window. The full timeline from offer to authorized start date is usually six to nine months for new H-1B cap cases.
How do I strengthen my H-1B application for a Sally Beauty corporate role?
Use O*NET to confirm your target occupation's degree requirements and make sure your credentials match. Look up the prevailing wage for your role in the OFLC Wage Search so you can verify your offer is compliant before signing. During interviews, emphasize how your specific academic background directly applies to the technical or analytical requirements of the corporate role you're pursuing.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Sally Beauty?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
