Job Roles at Snowflake
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Snowflake H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and data roles first
Snowflake's core product is built on cloud data infrastructure, so software engineers, data engineers, and ML engineers represent the strongest pipeline for H-1B sponsorship. These teams hire consistently and have the clearest precedent for sponsoring international candidates.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying
Not every Snowflake role is open to H-1B candidates. Job postings sometimes indicate visa status requirements, read them carefully. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and avoid wasting applications.
Understand Snowflake's H-1B petition timeline
H-1B petitions tied to the annual cap must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you're already on OPT or another status, Snowflake can file outside the cap window for faster transitions. Clarify your timeline during early recruiting conversations.
Highlight specialty occupation credentials clearly
Snowflake's H-1B petitions require demonstrating your role qualifies as a specialty occupation. In Technology and Software, that typically means a directly related degree. Emphasize your technical degree and how it aligns specifically with the role's requirements in your application materials.
Engage Snowflake recruiters directly about sponsorship
Snowflake's talent acquisition team handles H-1B logistics through internal legal and HR channels. Asking about sponsorship early, ideally during the initial recruiter screen, signals preparedness and helps both sides avoid misaligned expectations later in the process.
Look beyond headquarters for sponsored roles
Snowflake operates offices across multiple U.S. cities including San Mateo, New York, and Atlanta. H-1B sponsorship is available regardless of office location. Broadening your search geographically increases your chances of finding a sponsored opening that matches your skill set.

Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an active sponsorship program supporting international candidates across technical and business functions. Sponsorship is handled through Snowflake's internal legal and HR teams, and the company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions for qualifying roles.
Which roles and departments at Snowflake typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
Engineering roles, including software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning, represent the strongest H-1B sponsorship pipeline at Snowflake given the company's core focus on cloud data infrastructure. Product management, solutions architecture, and certain go-to-market roles have also been sponsored, though technical positions see the most consistent H-1B activity.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Snowflake?
Once Snowflake extends an offer to a candidate requiring H-1B sponsorship, their immigration legal team files the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, followed by the H-1B petition with USCIS. Snowflake manages this process internally, so your primary responsibility is providing accurate documentation and responding promptly to any requests from their legal team.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Snowflake?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the process runs on a fixed government calendar, registration in March, selection in April, and an October 1 start date at the earliest. If you're already in valid H-1B or OPT status, Snowflake can file a transfer or extension outside that window, which typically resolves in two to six months depending on processing conditions.
How do I find H-1B sponsored jobs at Snowflake?
Start by browsing Snowflake's careers page and filtering for roles that match your background in engineering, data, or product. Migrate Mate is also worth using, it surfaces verified H-1B sponsors and lets you search specifically for Snowflake openings alongside other confirmed sponsors, so you can focus your applications on companies with a real sponsorship history.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Snowflake?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
