Job Roles at Targa Resources
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Targa Resources H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and engineering roles first
Targa Resources's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in roles requiring specialized technical expertise, such as process engineering, pipeline operations, and energy infrastructure. Focusing your search on these disciplines gives you the strongest shot at sponsorship consideration.
Research Targa's operational footprint before applying
Targa operates midstream energy assets across multiple U.S. basins. Understanding which facilities and regions are actively expanding helps you identify where hiring, and therefore H-1B sponsorship activity, is most likely to occur at any given time.
Confirm sponsorship willingness early in the process
Because Targa sponsors selectively, it's worth raising your visa status early with recruiters, ideally in the first screening call. This avoids investing time in a process where sponsorship isn't available for that specific role or location.
Use platforms that verify real sponsorship history
Generic job boards rarely surface accurate sponsorship data for energy companies. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus only on Targa roles where H-1B support has been documented.
Align your degree field with the specialty occupation standard
For H-1B approval, your degree must directly relate to the role. At Targa, roles in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or energy systems management align cleanly. Gaps between your degree and job title can create complications during USCIS adjudication.
Connect with Targa employees in your target department
Targa's selective sponsorship means internal advocates matter. Reaching out to engineers or operations professionals at Targa through professional networks can surface unadvertised openings and give you insight into which teams are actively hiring H-1B candidates.

Does Targa Resources sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Targa Resources does sponsor H-1B visas. Its sponsorship activity is selective rather than high-volume, with a focus on specialized technical and engineering positions in the midstream energy sector. Candidates with degrees in engineering or closely related fields are the most likely to be considered for sponsored roles.
Which roles and departments at Targa Resources typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Targa Resources is most common in technical disciplines, including process engineering, pipeline and facilities engineering, and energy operations. Corporate functions such as data analytics, IT, and finance may also see occasional sponsorship, though engineering and operations roles represent the clearest sponsorship pathway at the company.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Targa Resources?
Once Targa extends an offer to an H-1B candidate, the company works with immigration counsel to file the petition with USCIS. You'll need to provide credential documentation, including your degree and any relevant professional certifications. The process is employer-driven, so your primary responsibility is ensuring your documentation is complete and accurate from the start.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at Targa Resources?
Checking Targa's careers page directly is a starting point, but it won't tell you which roles include sponsorship. Migrate Mate tracks verified H-1B sponsorship data by employer, so you can identify Targa postings with a documented sponsorship history rather than guessing based on job descriptions alone, which rarely mention visa support explicitly.
What timeline should I expect for H-1B sponsorship at Targa Resources?
The H-1B process follows federal timelines regardless of employer. Standard USCIS processing takes several months after the April lottery, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Targa, the timeline is shorter since you're not subject to the annual cap and can start once USCIS receives the petition.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Targa Resources?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
