Target roles that align with specialty occupation standards
Consulting firms like Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for roles requiring a specific degree field. Focus your applications on positions where your educational background directly matches the job's core function, not just general business roles.
Raise H-1B sponsorship early in the recruiting process
Consulting firms have structured hiring cycles. Bring up your visa situation before final interviews so recruiters can confirm sponsorship availability. Westwood Professional Services's HR team needs time to coordinate with immigration counsel before extending an offer.
Demonstrate billable value, not just technical skill
Professional services firms evaluate candidates on client-facing impact. Show how your specialized background supports Westwood's consulting engagements. Employers are more willing to initiate H-1B sponsorship when they can justify the role's value to clients.
Understand that consulting H-1B sponsorship involves LCA compliance
Westwood Professional Services must file a Labor Condition Application tied to your work location and wage level. If your work site changes frequently across client engagements, discuss this with HR early, as it can affect the sponsorship timeline and documentation requirements.
Search for open roles with confirmed sponsorship history
Not every consulting firm advertises its visa policies clearly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify which Westwood Professional Services openings are realistic targets for H-1B candidates.
Prepare for the April H-1B cap filing window
If you need a new H-1B cap number, Westwood Professional Services must register you in March for an April start. Confirm your offer and complete all documentation well before the registration deadline to avoid missing the annual lottery window.
Westwood Professional Services H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying professionals in consulting and related specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship is not automatic with every hire, so candidates should confirm availability directly during the recruiting process. Roles that require a specific degree field and support client-facing consulting work are the most likely to receive sponsorship consideration.
Which roles at Westwood Professional Services are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Westwood Professional Services is typically concentrated in positions that meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria, meaning roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In consulting firms, this commonly includes management consultants, financial analysts, IT consultants, and project managers with specialized technical or industry expertise directly relevant to client deliverables.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Westwood Professional Services?
Once Westwood Professional Services agrees to sponsor you, they work with immigration counsel to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, then submit the H-1B petition to USCIS. Your role is to provide accurate employment history, educational credentials, and passport details promptly. The firm's HR or legal team typically coordinates the timeline, but staying responsive and organized on your end keeps things on track.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Westwood Professional Services?
The standard H-1B process takes several months from petition filing to approval. If Westwood Professional Services files during the annual cap season, you'd be looking at an October 1 start date at the earliest. Premium processing is available and cuts USCIS review down to a matter of weeks, though the firm decides whether to use it. Factor in the LCA certification period before the petition can even be filed.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Westwood Professional Services as an international candidate?
Start by identifying open roles that match your specialty and confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing heavily in the application. Migrate Mate lists employers with verified H-1B sponsorship histories, making it easier to find Westwood Professional Services openings where international candidates have a realistic path. Tailor your resume to highlight the specific expertise that supports billable consulting work, since that's what drives sponsorship decisions at professional services firms.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
