Verify Your ABC Certification Eligibility First
Hanger requires board certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics. Confirm your credentials meet ABC standards before applying, since an incomplete certification will stall any sponsorship filing before it starts.
Target Hanger Clinics in Underserved Markets
Hanger operates clinics across rural and suburban markets where qualified Orthotists are harder to recruit locally. Locations with persistent openings are more likely to pursue sponsorship for strong candidates than well-staffed urban clinics with deep local applicant pools.
Browse Sponsored Orthotist Openings on Migrate Mate
Filter Hanger's Orthotist postings by visa type on Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has been used before. This cuts through generic job boards and surfaces positions where the hiring team already understands the process.
Understand How TN Status Applies Here
Canadian and Mexican Orthotists can enter under TN status without a lottery or petition wait. Hanger has sponsored TN visas for clinical roles, so if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, flag this during your interview to simplify the sponsorship conversation.
Clarify Sponsorship Timing Before Accepting an Offer
Once Hanger extends an offer, confirm whether they will file an H-1B petition and whether they support premium processing. USCIS premium processing reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days, which matters if your OPT or current status has a tight expiration.
Document Clinical Hours for Your Credential Evaluation
For any USCIS or DOL filing, Hanger's HR and legal teams will need a formal foreign credential evaluation confirming your degree and supervised clinical hours are equivalent to a U.S. accredited orthotics program. Commission this evaluation from a NACES-member organization early.

Find Orthotist at Hanger JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hanger sponsor H-1B visas for Orthotists?
Yes, Hanger has sponsored H-1B visas for Orthotist roles. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing matters. If you're already on OPT or another work-authorized status, that gives you a runway to secure an offer and have Hanger file before your current authorization expires.
How do I apply for Orthotist jobs at Hanger?
You can apply directly through Hanger's careers portal or find their open Orthotist positions on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where visa sponsorship is available. When applying, include your ABC board certification status and any active work authorization details in your application materials so the recruiting team can assess sponsorship feasibility early.
Which visa types does Hanger commonly use for Orthotist roles?
Hanger has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Orthotist positions. OPT and CPT apply to recent graduates from U.S. programs in orthotics or related fields. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens. H-1B applies more broadly but requires surviving the annual USCIS lottery unless you qualify for a cap-exempt employer or position.
What qualifications does Hanger expect for Orthotist candidates?
Hanger expects candidates to hold or be eligible for ABC board certification in orthotics, a master's degree from a CAAHEP-accredited program, and relevant clinical experience. For international candidates, a foreign credential evaluation confirming equivalency to U.S. program standards is typically required before any sponsorship filing can proceed with USCIS or DOL.
How do I time my application around the H-1B filing calendar?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with cap-subject petitions taking effect October 1. If you're on OPT with a May or June expiration, you'll need an offer in hand by February at the latest to allow Hanger time to register, survive the lottery, and file the petition. F-1 STEM OPT extension provides up to 24 additional months, which can bridge this gap.
