Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Prosthetist Jobs at Hanger Jobs
Get Your ABC or BOC Certification First
Hanger's Prosthetist postings consistently require ABC or BOC board certification. Without it, your application won't clear the screening stage, regardless of your visa status. Start the certification process before targeting any specific clinic openings.
Target Hanger Clinics in Underserved Markets
Hanger operates hundreds of clinics across the U.S., but rural and underserved locations face the sharpest staffing shortages. Employers in those markets have stronger justification for sponsoring a foreign national through the H-1B prevailing wage and LCA process with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Hanger's Open Roles
Hanger posts Prosthetist openings across dozens of locations simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hanger roles that list visa sponsorship, so you're not manually sifting through postings that won't support your work authorization.
Confirm Your Degree Meets Specialty Occupation Standards
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role is a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. For Prosthetists, a master's degree in prosthetics and orthotics from a NCOPE-accredited program is the clearest pathway to satisfying that standard.
Ask About TN Status If You Hold Canadian Citizenship
Prosthetist doesn't appear on the standard TN occupation list, so a Canadian candidate may still need H-1B sponsorship. Clarify this with Hanger's HR team during the offer stage before assuming TN is an option, since pursuing the wrong category causes costly delays.
Align Your Start Date With H-1B Cap Timelines
If Hanger sponsors you through the cap-subject H-1B lottery, USCIS opens registration in March with an October 1 employment start. Build this into your negotiation so your offer letter reflects a realistic start date and Hanger's legal team has time to file.

Find Prosthetist at Hanger JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hanger sponsor H-1B visas for Prosthetists?
Yes, Hanger has sponsored H-1B visas for clinical roles including Prosthetists. Because prosthetics and orthotics patient care qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a degree in a specific field, Hanger can file an H-1B petition with USCIS on your behalf. Sponsorship availability can vary by clinic location and hiring urgency, so it's worth confirming directly during the offer process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Prosthetist roles at Hanger?
H-1B is the primary route for most internationally trained Prosthetists at Hanger, given the specialty occupation requirement tied to an accredited prosthetics and orthotics degree. Candidates on F-1 OPT or CPT who are completing or recently completed a U.S.-based NCOPE-accredited program can also work at Hanger under those authorizations before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Prosthetist jobs at Hanger?
You can browse Hanger's open Prosthetist positions through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles that support visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight ABC or BOC certification, patient care volume, and fabrication competencies. Hanger's hiring process typically involves a recruiter screen, a clinical interview, and credentialing verification before an offer is extended.
What qualifications does Hanger expect from Prosthetist candidates?
Hanger generally requires a master's degree from a NCOPE-accredited program and active ABC or BOC board certification. State licensure in the state where the clinic operates is also required before you can see patients independently. Candidates with experience in transtibial and transfemoral fittings, microprocessor knees, or upper limb prosthetics tend to be prioritized for complex-case clinics.
How do I plan my timeline if Hanger is sponsoring my H-1B?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a job offer from Hanger outside that window, your attorney can file under a cap-exempt category only if the clinic qualifies, which most private O and P practices do not. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days, which can ease credentialing and onboarding timelines.
