About HappyRobot
HappyRobot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. Our AI workers don't just communicate - they make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across voice, email, and enterprise systems. Born in Y Combinator (S23) and backed by a16z and Base10 with over $60M raised, we power critical operations for global enterprises worldwide.
Our platform is battle-tested in the most demanding environments - where AI has real consequences. We started in logistics, built our own voice stack, models, and orchestration layer from the ground up, and are now bringing that infrastructure to every enterprise that runs the real economy. Learn more about our vision in our manifesto.
Role Overview
As our Growth Engineer, you will own the entire technical lifecycle of our digital presence—moving our website infrastructure to a fully self-hosted environment built on Vercel and Payload CMS. Our primary focus is driving high-value enterprise demos through product experiences. We are moving away from restrictive marketing-led visual site builders (Webflow) and shifting to a highly technical, engineering-driven experimentation engine.
Beyond styling static landing pages, you will be building scalable code infrastructure that enables edge personalization for our VIP customers, mapping full in-platform user context, and repairing complex analytics pipelines. We are looking for a deeply independent builder who can think holistically about business processes while maintaining the high standards of a core platform engineer.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the engineering effort to migrate our marketing site and customer funnels out of Webflow and into an ultra-fast, self-hosted frontend built on Next.js/Vercel and Payload CMS.
- Architect dynamic, programmatic landing page templates for high-value VIP accounts that pull tailored assets, logos, and account metrics flawlessly without layout shifts or visual "flicker".
- Implement best-in-class, in-platform tracking that diagnoses existing data gaps and implement robust tracking so our sales teams have total visibility into what accounts are doing inside our platform.
- Seamlessly pipe event data and user traits from PostHog and outbound tooling directly down into Salesforce CRM, optimizing API payloads to maintain immaculate CRM data hygiene.
- Build and maintain our growth experimentation infrastructure.
- Design, launch, and analyze complex server-side A/B tests that target key conversion loops and drive enterprise demo bookings.
Must Have
- Strong track record of building things entirely on your own from scratch. You don't wait for a perfectly detailed specification document—you see a gap in our process or tracking and you fix it.
- Deep technical mastery of React, Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Direct experience building with modern, open-source headless content management systems (ideally Payload CMS, Strapi, or equivalent developer-first tools).
- Strong familiarity hosting applications on Vercel and utilizing Edge Middleware, Edge Functions, or CDN-level routing to achieve 0ms-latency personalization.
- Advanced knowledge of event tracking architectures using tools like PostHog, Mixpanel, or Segment.
- Experience managing data flows into enterprise CRMs (Salesforce) is highly desired.

Our Operating Principles:
Extreme Ownership
We take full responsibility for our work, outcomes, and team success. No excuses, no blame-shifting — if something needs fixing, we own it and make it better. This means stepping up, even when it’s not “your job.” If a ball is dropped, we pick it up. If a customer is unhappy, we fix it. If a process is broken, we redesign it. We don’t wait for someone else to solve it — we lead with accountability and expect the same from those around us.
Craftsmanship
Putting care and intention into every task, striving for excellence, and taking deep ownership of the quality and outcome of your work. Craftsmanship means never settling for “just fine.” We sweat the details because details compound. Whether it’s a product feature, an internal doc, or a sales call — we treat it as a reflection of our standards. We aim to deliver jaw-dropping customer experiences by being curious, meticulous, and proud of what we build — even when nobody’s watching.
We are “majos”
Be friendly & have fun with your coworkers. Always be genuine & honest, but kind. “Majo” is our way of saying: be a good human. Be approachable, helpful, and warm. We’re building something ambitious, and it’s easier (and more fun) when we enjoy the ride together. We give feedback with kindness, challenge each other with respect, and celebrate wins together without ego.
Urgency with Focus
Create the highest impact in the shortest amount of time. Move fast, but in the right direction. We operate with speed because time is our most limited resource. But speed without focus is chaos. We prioritize ruthlessly, act decisively, and stay aligned. We aim for high leverage: the biggest results from the simplest, smartest actions. We’re running a high-speed marathon — not a sprint with no strategy.
Talent Density and Meritocracy
Hire only people who can raise the average; ‘exceptional performance is the passing grade.’ Ability trumps seniority. We believe the best teams are built on talent density — every hire should raise the bar. We reward contribution, not titles or tenure. We give ownership to those who earn it, and we all hold each other to a high standard. A-players want to work with other A-players — that’s how we win.
First-Principles Thinking
Strip a problem to physics-level facts, ignore industry dogma, rebuild the solution from scratch. We don’t copy-paste solutions. We go back to basics, ask why things are the way they are, and rebuild from the ground up if needed. This mindset pushes us to innovate, challenge stale assumptions, and move faster than incumbents. It’s how we build what others think is impossible.

Focus on technical and engineering roles
HappyRobot's sponsorship activity sits firmly in the technology and software space. Target roles in software engineering, product development, or data where specialty occupation requirements align clearly with your degree and experience.
Understand H-1B as their primary pathway
HappyRobot sponsors H-1B visas specifically, so confirm you're H-1B eligible before applying. If you're on OPT or a current H-1B, you're well positioned. Other visa types are not part of their known sponsorship track record.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
H-1B registrations open in March each year with an October 1 start date. If HappyRobot extends an offer, factor in this timeline, late applications may push your start date back a full year.
Demonstrate specialty occupation alignment clearly
As a software company, HappyRobot needs your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Tailor your resume to show how your degree directly applies to the position, which strengthens the LCA and I-129 filing.
Look for verified sponsorship history before applying
Not every tech company sponsors consistently. Browse Migrate Mate to filter for employers like HappyRobot with verified H-1B sponsorship records, so you're targeting companies with a real track record, not guessing.
Prepare to address visa status early in interviews
Smaller technology companies sometimes hesitate on sponsorship due to process uncertainty. Come prepared to explain the H-1B process clearly and concisely, which can ease concerns and move conversations forward faster.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does HappyRobot sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, HappyRobot sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in technology and software. Their sponsorship is focused on positions that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the job requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If you're targeting HappyRobot, confirm that your role and degree align before applying.
What types of roles does HappyRobot typically sponsor?
HappyRobot's sponsorship activity is concentrated in the technology and software industry. Roles in software engineering, machine learning, and technical product development are most likely to meet the specialty occupation criteria required for H-1B sponsorship. Business, sales, or generalist roles are less commonly sponsored at companies of this size and focus.
How do I know if HappyRobot is actively sponsoring visas right now?
Sponsorship activity at smaller tech companies can shift year to year depending on hiring needs. Migrate Mate tracks verified H-1B sponsorship records so you can see whether HappyRobot has sponsored recently and browse any open roles they've listed. That's a more reliable signal than job postings alone, which rarely confirm sponsorship upfront.
How do I approach the application process at HappyRobot as an international candidate?
Apply through standard channels and be upfront about your visa status early. HappyRobot operates in the technology sector, where H-1B sponsorship is a known part of hiring for specialized roles. Come prepared to explain your current status, your timeline relative to the H-1B cap cycle, and what the sponsorship process involves, which reduces friction for hiring managers unfamiliar with the details.
Does HappyRobot sponsor Green Cards?
Based on available sponsorship data, HappyRobot's activity has been focused on H-1B visas rather than Green Card sponsorship. Green Card sponsorship through employment, such as EB-2 or EB-3, typically comes after a period of H-1B employment. It's worth raising the question of long-term sponsorship intentions during the offer stage if permanent residency is part of your planning.
