Frame credentials around technical documentation standards
Holtec's Coder roles support nuclear and energy engineering teams, so highlight experience with technical coding systems, document control software, or industry-specific classification standards. Generic IT coding experience is less relevant than documentation workflow expertise.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before applying
Confirm the specific Holtec facility you're targeting is enrolled in E-Verify before accepting an offer. Federal contractors in the nuclear sector are typically required to participate, but confirming upfront prevents surprises after your I-9 is submitted.
Target open roles by location not just title
Holtec operates across multiple campuses. Use Migrate Mate to filter Coder openings by location, since sponsorship decisions can vary by hiring manager and site. Applying to the right facility improves your chances of landing a team already familiar with the H-1B or TN process.
Ask about LCA filing timelines during interviews
The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before your H-1B petition is filed. Ask the recruiter early whether legal counsel is already engaged and what their typical turnaround looks like, especially if your OPT or current status has a near-term end date.
Align your degree field to the specialty occupation definition
For H-1B approval, USCIS requires that a specific bachelor's degree field is a normal minimum for the Coder role. Documentation or records management degrees qualify more directly than general computer science. Have a credential evaluation ready if your degree is from a non-U.S. institution.
Use TN status if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN visas don't require an employer petition or USCIS approval before you start, which can significantly shorten your onboarding timeline. Confirm your job offer letter describes the Coder role in terms consistent with an approved TN occupation category before presenting at the border.

Find Coder at Holtec International JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Holtec International sponsor H-1B visas for Coders?
Yes, Holtec International sponsors H-1B visas for Coder roles. The company operates in the nuclear and energy engineering sector, where technical documentation positions regularly meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Your degree field should align directly with the role, and the employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS.
Which visa types are commonly used for Coder roles at Holtec International?
Holtec International supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Coder positions. OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals where the role qualifies. Green Card sponsorship typically follows a period of employment through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Coder roles at Holtec International?
Holtec's Coder roles focus on technical documentation and engineering record systems within the nuclear and energy industry. Relevant qualifications include experience with document control platforms, classification coding standards, and familiarity with regulated industry workflows. A bachelor's degree in a directly related field strengthens both your application and the H-1B specialty occupation determination if sponsorship is required.
How do I apply for Coder jobs at Holtec International?
Browse current Coder openings at Holtec International on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions open to your specific status. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight technical documentation experience relevant to the nuclear or engineering sector. Confirm visa sponsorship availability with the recruiter before moving through later interview stages.
How do I manage my visa timeline when accepting a Coder offer at Holtec International?
If you're on OPT, confirm your end date and whether a STEM extension applies before signing an offer. H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap with an April filing window, so a late-year offer may require a cap-gap bridge or a gap in employment. TN and L-1 transfers avoid the lottery entirely and can move faster once the offer letter is finalized.
