Document Your Certifications Before Applying
Holtec's mechanical work touches nuclear components and pressure systems, so certifications like ASME, AWS welding credentials, or NRC-related qualifications carry real weight. Have original certificates, transcripts, and translated documents ready before your first interview.
Target Holtec's Nuclear Facility Locations Directly
Holtec operates project sites across multiple states, not just its Camden headquarters. Search for openings tied to specific facility locations, since site-based mechanic roles often have more urgent hiring needs and faster sponsorship decisions than corporate postings.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Listings
Not every mechanic posting at an industrial employer specifies visa sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to surface only the Holtec International mechanic roles confirmed to include H-1B, TN, or OPT sponsorship so you're not guessing at the offer stage.
Clarify TN Eligibility if You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
If you're Canadian or Mexican, TN status can cover mechanics under qualifying industrial engineering or technical categories. Confirm with Holtec's HR whether the specific role's duties align with TN classifications before assuming the company will file an H-1B instead.
Ask About the LCA Filing Timeline During Offer Negotiation
Before accepting an offer, ask HR when they plan to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but delays can affect your start date if you're in a grace period.
Align Your Resume to Nuclear Industry Safety Standards
Holtec screens mechanic candidates against strict quality assurance and safety protocols. Referencing experience with 10 CFR Part 50 compliance, radiation work permits, or industrial safety audits in your resume makes your application materially stronger than a general mechanical background.

Find Mechanic at Holtec International JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Holtec International sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanics?
Yes, Holtec International sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanic roles. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for skilled technical positions across its nuclear and industrial operations. Your role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically requires a degree or its equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
How do I apply for Mechanic jobs at Holtec International?
Apply directly through Holtec International's careers page, where mechanic openings are listed by facility and project type. Before applying, confirm the posting notes visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate lists verified Holtec mechanic roles that include sponsorship, which lets you skip postings that won't support your visa situation.
Which visa types does Holtec International commonly use for Mechanic roles?
Holtec sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying mechanic positions and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from engineering or technical programs. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role duties fit recognized USMCA occupational categories. For longer-term pathways, Holtec has also pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for skilled workers.
What qualifications does Holtec International expect for sponsored Mechanic roles?
Holtec typically looks for mechanics with hands-on experience in industrial, nuclear, or heavy manufacturing environments. Relevant certifications such as ASME, AWS welding credentials, or quality assurance experience under nuclear regulatory frameworks strengthen your application considerably. A technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience supports the specialty occupation classification USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Mechanic positions at Holtec International?
After an offer is extended, Holtec's HR team initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL, which takes approximately seven business days once submitted. USCIS then processes the H-1B petition, with standard processing taking three to five months and premium processing available in roughly 15 business days. F-1 OPT authorization runs separately through your university's DSO before USCIS approves the EAD.
