Align your credentials with patient-facing roles
Indiana University Health's Customer Service openings often require healthcare-specific experience such as medical terminology knowledge, insurance verification, or EHR system familiarity. Documenting these skills clearly on your resume strengthens your case before you apply.
Target roles tied to specialty departments
Patient access and scheduling roles within specialty departments like oncology or cardiology tend to have more structured hiring pipelines at large health systems. These roles are more likely to move through HR with defined sponsorship workflows already in place.
Confirm H-1B eligibility for your specific title
Not every Customer Service title at a hospital qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Roles framed around care coordination, healthcare administration, or patient financial services carry stronger eligibility arguments than general support titles.
Start the LCA process conversation early
Once you receive an offer, ask HR whether they've initiated the Labor Condition Application with DOL. At large health systems, this step can add weeks to your start date, and knowing the internal timeline helps you plan your status transition accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles with sponsorship history
Filtering Customer Service openings by sponsorship track record saves you time. Migrate Mate lets you browse Indiana University Health's current listings and see which visa types they've historically filed for in this function before you invest in an application.
Prepare your OPT or TN documentation before the offer stage
If you're entering on F-1 OPT or TN status, have your work authorization documents ready to share with HR immediately after receiving an offer. Healthcare employers run E-Verify at onboarding and delays in document submission can stall your start date.

Find Customer Service at Indiana University Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Indiana University Health sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Service roles?
Yes, Indiana University Health sponsors H-1B visas, including for roles within its Customer Service function. Sponsorship eligibility depends on whether your specific job title qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Titles with a healthcare administration or patient financial services focus tend to meet that bar more consistently than general support roles.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Service roles at Indiana University Health?
Indiana University Health supports several visa categories for this function, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 OPT is a common starting point for recent graduates, while the H-1B or Green Card sponsorship tends to follow for employees who demonstrate long-term fit.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Customer Service roles at Indiana University Health?
Most openings expect experience in a healthcare or clinical support environment, familiarity with insurance verification or medical billing processes, and comfort working in electronic health record systems. Communication skills and the ability to navigate patient concerns professionally are consistently emphasized. Some roles require a healthcare-related associate or bachelor's degree for H-1B eligibility purposes.
How do I apply for Customer Service jobs at Indiana University Health?
You can browse current Customer Service openings at Indiana University Health through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship history so you can prioritize listings where sponsorship is realistic. From there, apply directly through Indiana University Health's careers portal and reference your work authorization status clearly in your application to avoid delays at the screening stage.
How do I plan my timeline if I need sponsorship for a Customer Service role at Indiana University Health?
If you're on F-1 OPT, factor in your OPT expiration and the cap-gap window when timing your application. H-1B sponsorship requires your employer to file by the April 1 window for an October 1 start. TN status can be arranged more quickly at the border or a port of entry. Starting your job search at least six months before your current authorization expires gives you realistic runway.
