Align your credentials to PLC platforms IPS uses
Integrated Power Services works heavily with industrial automation systems. Before applying, document your hands-on experience with specific PLC brands like Allen-Bradley or Siemens and match that to the job posting's technical requirements. A credential-to-role mismatch is the fastest way to stall a sponsorship conversation.
Target locations with active Controls Technician openings
IPS operates service centers across multiple states. Focus your applications on locations where Controls Technician roles are currently posted, since sponsorship decisions are made at the hiring-manager level and active openings signal an immediate workforce need that strengthens your case.
Clarify TN eligibility before accepting an offer
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, the TN visa can get you to work significantly faster than H-1B processing. Confirm with IPS's HR team early whether your Controls Technician role qualifies under the engineer or computer systems analyst TN category before an offer is finalized.
Prepare for OPT gaps in your authorization timeline
F-1 OPT authorization has a fixed window, and manufacturing roles often have longer hiring cycles. If your OPT expiration falls within 90 days of your expected start date, raise this with IPS's recruiter immediately so they can initiate H-1B or cap-exempt filing paperwork without a gap in your work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to find open IPS Controls Technician roles
Searching broadly across job boards makes it hard to filter for sponsorship-willing employers in manufacturing. Use Migrate Mate to browse Controls Technician openings at Integrated Power Services that are tagged for visa sponsorship, so you're applying where your work authorization situation is already accounted for.
Get your I-129 petition filed before H-1B cap deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, and IPS will need to submit your petition well before the October 1 start date. Confirm with the HR team that your offer letter and LCA are in place at least 30 days before the filing window opens to avoid missing the cap cycle.

Find Controls Technician at Integrated Power Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Integrated Power Services sponsor H-1B visas for Controls Technicians?
Yes, Integrated Power Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Controls Technicians. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the engineering-level knowledge required for industrial automation and control systems work. You'll need a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience to support the petition, and the employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS processes the I-129.
How do I apply for Controls Technician jobs at Integrated Power Services?
You can browse and apply for Controls Technician openings at Integrated Power Services directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is available. IPS posts positions across multiple service center locations, so search by region as well as role title. Apply with a resume that highlights your specific PLC, SCADA, or industrial controls experience since technical fit drives hiring decisions at this company.
Which visa types are commonly used for Controls Technician roles at Integrated Power Services?
Integrated Power Services has sponsored H-1B visas and supported F-1 OPT and CPT work authorization for Controls Technicians. TN visas are also an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role can be classified under a qualifying TN professional category. The right visa type depends on your nationality, current immigration status, and how quickly you need to start work.
What qualifications and experience does Integrated Power Services expect for Controls Technician roles?
IPS Controls Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers, motor drives, and industrial control panels. A degree in electrical engineering technology, mechatronics, or a closely related field strengthens your application and is often necessary to support a visa petition. Familiarity with troubleshooting rotating equipment in a manufacturing or power services environment is a strong differentiator when competing for sponsored positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Controls Technician position at IPS?
Timeline depends on the visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on your start date. F-1 OPT authorization is tied to your program end date and requires USCIS approval that can take two to three months. H-1B sponsorship follows the annual cap cycle with a standard October 1 start date, though USCIS premium processing is available to reduce adjudication to roughly 15 business days once your petition is filed.
