Tailor your resume to NPI and process engineering
Jabil's Project Engineer postings consistently emphasize new product introduction, DFM, and production transfer experience. Frame your resume around measurable process improvements and cross-site program ownership, not just general engineering credentials.
Target sites with active hardware programs
Jabil operates dozens of manufacturing campuses globally, but sponsorship activity for Project Engineers concentrates at sites running complex electronics programs. Filter your search by locations tied to printed circuit board assembly, box build, or medical device manufacturing.
Clarify TN eligibility before applying if you are Canadian or Mexican
Project Engineer roles at Jabil can qualify under TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals when the position maps to an eligible USMCA engineering category. Confirm the job description lists a qualifying engineering discipline before your interview to avoid offer-stage surprises.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS only opens cap registrations once per year, typically in March, with an October 1 start date. Discuss this cycle openly with your Jabil recruiter early so offer timing and onboarding planning account for it.
Prepare documentation that bridges your degree to the role
Jabil's Project Engineer positions typically require a degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering. If your degree title is non-standard, gather credential evaluation records from a NACES-member evaluator before USCIS reviews your H-1B or Green Card petition.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles by visa type
Jabil posts Project Engineer openings across multiple sites at different sponsorship stages. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Jabil roles that match your visa category, so you are not spending time on positions that do not fit your authorization path.

Find Project Engineer at Jabil JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jabil sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Jabil sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineer roles. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for engineering positions across its manufacturing sites. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, timing your application cycle correctly with Jabil's recruiting team is critical to securing a start date that aligns with USCIS processing.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Jabil?
Applications go through Jabil's careers portal at jabil.com/careers. Search by job function under engineering and filter by site location. You can also find Project Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which lets you browse specifically for roles that match your work authorization status before you apply.
Which visa types does Jabil commonly use for Project Engineer roles?
Jabil sponsors H-1B for most international engineering hires and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees in the U.S. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status depending on the engineering discipline listed in the job description. For longer-term pathways, Jabil also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process for eligible engineers.
What qualifications does Jabil expect for Project Engineer candidates?
Most Project Engineer postings at Jabil require a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering. Hands-on experience with new product introduction, DFM analysis, or production transfer is frequently listed as a requirement rather than a preference. Candidates with exposure to electronics contract manufacturing environments, IPC standards, or ERP systems tend to be more competitive in the hiring process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Project Engineer at Jabil?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border or port of entry with same-day approval. H-1B cap-subject petitions require USCIS lottery selection in March and cannot start before October 1, creating a potential six-month or longer gap between offer and start. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to three years or longer depending on your country of birth and priority date.
