Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Software Engineer Jobs at Jabil Jobs
Align your background to Jabil's manufacturing context
Jabil's Software Engineer roles often sit at the intersection of software and hardware, covering areas like embedded firmware, MES platforms, and factory automation. Frame your resume around systems-level or industrial software experience, not just web or cloud development.
Target roles in supply chain and operations divisions
Jabil's highest Software Engineer hiring volume tends to cluster around smart manufacturing and supply chain systems. Searching within those business units gives you the strongest chance of landing a role where sponsorship has a clear precedent.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Jabil's active sponsored openings
Not every job board flags which roles come with sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Jabil's Software Engineer listings specifically for visa-sponsored positions, so you're only spending time on applications where your work authorization situation is already accounted for.
Get your academic credentials evaluated before applying
If your computer science or engineering degree is from outside the U.S., have a NACES-approved evaluator confirm it maps to a U.S. bachelor's or higher. Jabil's H-1B petitions require USCIS to approve specialty occupation status, and a clear degree equivalency strengthens that determination.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Jabil recruits at scale and not every hiring manager has visibility into immigration timelines. Raise your visa status directly during the offer discussion, not after signing, so the legal and HR teams can start the Labor Condition Application process with DOL without delays.
Plan your employment dates around the H-1B cap timeline
Cap-subject H-1B petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. If Jabil extends you an offer outside OPT or another authorized period, you and the recruiter need to confirm whether you can bridge the gap using STEM OPT extension or another valid status.

Find Software Engineer at Jabil JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jabil sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Jabil sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers. The company has an active sponsorship track record for technical roles, particularly those tied to manufacturing systems, embedded software, and supply chain technology. Sponsorship is typically handled through Jabil's legal and HR teams once an offer is extended, so it's worth confirming the specific role is eligible during the recruitment process.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Jabil?
Applications go through Jabil's careers portal, where Software Engineer roles are listed by location and business unit. Tailor your application to highlight systems-level or industrial software experience relevant to Jabil's electronics and manufacturing operations. You can also browse Jabil's sponsored Software Engineer openings on Migrate Mate, which filters listings to show only roles where visa sponsorship is available.
Which visa types does Jabil commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Jabil sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers requiring long-term work authorization, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for employees pursuing permanent residency through the PERM labor certification process. For new graduates, F-1 OPT and CPT authorization can also be used during the transition to a sponsored status, and TN visas are available for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals.
What qualifications does Jabil expect for Software Engineer roles?
Most Software Engineer positions at Jabil require a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Roles closer to hardware or manufacturing often expect experience in embedded systems, C or C++, or industrial automation platforms. For H-1B sponsorship, the position must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which generally means a degree in a directly related field is a standard requirement.
How do I think about timing if I need Jabil to sponsor my visa?
Timing depends heavily on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how much authorized time remains and whether a STEM extension applies, since cap-subject H-1B petitions filed in April don't take effect until October 1. Raise your visa situation early in the process so Jabil's team can coordinate the Labor Condition Application with DOL and file the H-1B petition during the correct registration window.
