ABOUT THE TEAM
This is a newly formed team responsible for data ingestion into Klaviyo’s core data objects. The team sits at a critical junction between our various integration teams and the core data platform, acting as the interface that ensures data flows cleanly, reliably, and at scale into foundational systems.
As Klaviyo continues to scale, the quality, reliability, and architecture of our ingestion systems are increasingly critical to product performance and customer trust. This team will define the next generation of how data enters and powers our platform.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly technical Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for our Data Ingestion Platform. This is a traditional platform PM role, ideal for someone comfortable operating in deep architectural discussions and experienced with large-scale data movement and distributed systems.
You will define the vision and roadmap for how large volumes of data from diverse sources are ingested, transformed, and made reliable within Klaviyo’s core systems. You’ll work closely with engineering, integration teams, and downstream stakeholders to modernize legacy pipelines and build a scalable, unified ingestion framework. This role requires strong product leadership, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to operate at both strategic and highly technical levels. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days/week in our Boston office. Fully remote candidates will not be considered at this time.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Data is foundational to everything Klaviyo delivers. This role sits at the heart of how that data enters and powers the platform. You’ll shape the architecture that enables reliable, scalable data ingestion for years to come, driving platform health, reducing complexity, and unlocking innovation across the company.
If you’re energized by building structure where it doesn’t yet exist, modernizing complex systems, and operating at the intersection of data architecture and product strategy, this is a high-impact opportunity to define a critical platform capability at scale.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Define the long-term mission, charter, and ownership boundaries for a newly formed team.
- Develop and maintain a coherent, high-impact roadmap that balances foundational investments with active initiatives.
- Refine prioritization and sequencing across multiple concurrent projects to ensure focus on the highest-value work.
- Own the strategy and roadmap for ingesting large volumes of data from numerous sources.
- Think holistically about data movement, transformation, and reliability at scale.
- Partner with engineering to design ingestion systems that are scalable, resilient, and maintainable.
- Navigate tradeoffs across performance, latency, cost, and reliability.
- Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, and operational excellence for ingestion systems.
- Identify and drive architectural simplifications that improve platform health over time.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Strong experience as a Platform Product Manager, ideally in data infrastructure or distributed systems environments.
- Deep understanding of data architecture and large-scale systems.
- Experience working with event-driven systems, high-volume ingestion pipelines, or complex data movement patterns.
- Comfortable engaging in highly technical discussions around pipelines, infrastructure, and system evolution.
- Proven ability to define structure and clarity in ambiguous, newly forming teams.
- Skilled at stakeholder management across multiple technical organizations.
- Able to think strategically while managing highly technical execution details.

Frame your portfolio around marketing data pipelines
Klaviyo's platform is built on behavioral event data and customer analytics. Highlight projects involving ETL workflows, CDP integrations, or marketing attribution data rather than generic data engineering work. This directly maps to the problems their Data Contributor teams solve.
Target Klaviyo's Boston and remote postings separately
Klaviyo files Labor Condition Applications tied to a specific worksite. If you're open to remote, confirm during the interview whether the LCA will list your home state, as this affects the prevailing wage DOL requires and your I-129 filing location.
Get your degree equivalency documented before applying
H-1B specialty occupation petitions for Data Contributor roles require a directly related degree. If your credential is from outside the U.S., obtain a formal evaluation from a NACES-accredited agency before Klaviyo's HR team initiates the USCIS filing.
Ask about H-1B cap timing in your first recruiter call
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're interviewing outside that window, clarify whether Klaviyo will file for the next cap cycle or offer an interim status like OPT extension while you wait.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Data Contributor openings at Klaviyo
Klaviyo's sponsorship activity for this role isn't always visible through standard job boards. Browse Migrate Mate's filtered listings to identify current Data Contributor postings at Klaviyo that are open to visa sponsorship candidates.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 fit your long-term path
Klaviyo sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories for technical roles. EB-2 requires a degree plus progressive experience or an advanced degree. Confirm which category your qualifications support before negotiating your offer, since PERM timelines differ significantly between them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Klaviyo sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, Klaviyo sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. The process requires your employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. New H-1B candidates must go through the annual lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at Klaviyo?
Start by finding active Data Contributor postings at Klaviyo that are open to visa sponsorship candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces these roles with sponsorship context already filtered in. Once you identify a relevant posting, apply directly through Klaviyo's careers portal and flag your visa status early in the recruiter screening call to confirm sponsorship eligibility for that specific role.
Which visa types does Klaviyo commonly use for Data Contributor roles?
Klaviyo primarily uses H-1B visas for Data Contributor positions, which is the most common work visa for specialty occupation tech roles in the U.S. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Klaviyo sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, depending on your education level and years of relevant experience.
What qualifications does Klaviyo expect for Data Contributor roles?
Klaviyo typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in a field like computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. Hands-on experience with data pipelines, SQL, and marketing analytics platforms strengthens your profile considerably. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must be directly related to the role's specialty occupation classification, so a broadly unrelated degree can create petition risk.
How do I think about the timeline from offer to work authorization at Klaviyo?
If you need a new H-1B, plan for a March registration window and an October 1 start at the earliest, meaning an offer in late 2025 may not result in work authorization until October 2026. Candidates already on H-1B with another employer can transfer to Klaviyo faster using H-1B portability, allowing work to begin once USCIS receives the transfer petition, not after approval.
