Credential Your Degree Before Applying
Foreign medical or health science degrees often require evaluation by a NACES-approved credential assessment agency before Lakeland Regional Health can confirm your qualifications meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
Target Roles Requiring Specialized Clinical Training
Regional health systems like Lakeland prioritize sponsorship for positions where the degree requirement is clearly defined, such as licensed clinical roles in nursing, pharmacy, or radiology. Generalist or support roles are far less likely to clear the H-1B specialty occupation bar.
Confirm Licensure Requirements for Florida Before Interviewing
Florida has its own state licensure process for most clinical healthcare roles. Verify your eligibility with the Florida Department of Health early, because Lakeland Regional Health cannot finalize an H-1B petition for a licensed role until your state license is in order.
Ask HR Directly About Their Filing Timeline
H-1B cap-subject filings must be submitted in April for an October 1 start date. When you reach the offer stage, ask the recruiting team whether they work with outside immigration counsel and what lead time they need to prepare your petition.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Open Healthcare Roles
Browse current healthcare job openings at Lakeland Regional Health filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, so you're targeting active listings rather than cold-applying to roles that may not support international candidates.
Understand the Prevailing Wage Before Negotiating
DOL requires Lakeland Regional Health to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location before certifying the Labor Condition Application. Research wage levels on the DOL's OFLC portal so your salary expectations align with what the LCA will actually certify.

Find Healthcare at Lakeland Regional Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Lakeland Regional Health sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Lakeland Regional Health has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for healthcare roles. Sponsorship is typically reserved for specialized clinical or technical positions where a specific degree in the field is a genuine requirement. Roles that accept any bachelor's degree are unlikely to meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, so the more specialized your position, the stronger your case.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare roles at Lakeland Regional Health?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for healthcare roles at U.S. health systems, including Lakeland Regional Health. Certain clinical roles, particularly registered nurses, have historically been sponsored under the EB-3 Green Card pathway due to long-standing nursing shortages. If you hold a TN-eligible occupation under USMCA and are Canadian or Mexican, that may also be an option depending on your specific role.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Healthcare roles at Lakeland Regional Health?
Lakeland Regional Health generally expects candidates to hold a relevant clinical or technical degree and, for licensed roles, an active Florida state license or demonstrated eligibility for licensure. For H-1B eligibility specifically, USCIS requires that the role normally requires a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific specialty. Practical clinical experience, relevant certifications, and any required board exams will all factor into your competitiveness.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Lakeland Regional Health?
Search for open healthcare positions at Lakeland Regional Health through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship so you can focus on roles where international candidates are genuinely considered. Once you identify a position, apply directly through Lakeland's careers portal. Be upfront about your visa status during the screening process so the recruiting team can loop in their immigration contacts early.
How do I time my job search around the H-1B filing process at Lakeland Regional Health?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration each March for an October 1 start date. That means you need a signed offer and a sponsor prepared to file well before March. Start your outreach to Lakeland Regional Health at least five to six months before the registration window opens, and confirm early that the recruiting team has immigration counsel in place to prepare your petition.
