Verify Your Credentials Meet Florida Requirements
Florida requires RN licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing before you can practice. If your nursing degree is from outside the U.S., get a credentials evaluation from a CGFNS-approved body early, since this directly affects your H-1B eligibility timeline.
Target Units With Recurring Open Roles
Lakeland Regional Health consistently posts openings across medical-surgical, critical care, and emergency nursing. Focusing your application on high-turnover units increases your chances of landing a role that a hiring manager actively needs to fill quickly.
Ask Directly About Sponsorship During Interviews
Hospital recruiters handle high volumes of applicants and don't always raise sponsorship upfront. Naming the H-1B specifically and confirming the employer's willingness to file an LCA with DOL before you accept an offer avoids late-stage surprises.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter for Verified Nursing Openings
Searching broadly for sponsored nursing roles wastes time on employers with no sponsorship history. Use Migrate Mate to filter Lakeland Regional Health job listings by visa type so you're only engaging with roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Prepare NCLEX and English Proficiency Documentation Early
USCIS requires that foreign-trained nurses submit a CGFNS certificate or a full, unrestricted state license as part of the H-1B petition. Having these documents ready before your employer begins the petition prevents filing delays that could affect your start date.

Find Nursing at Lakeland Regional Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Lakeland Regional Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Lakeland Regional Health has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. The H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant work visa used for registered nurses when the position meets the specialty occupation criteria. Sponsorship is employer-initiated, so the process begins after you receive and accept a job offer. Confirming sponsorship willingness early in the interview process is the best way to avoid surprises.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Lakeland Regional Health?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sponsored nursing roles at U.S. hospitals, including Lakeland Regional Health. Some international nurses also enter on a TN visa if they're Canadian or Mexican citizens, or on a Green Card through employment-based immigrant visa categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, education, and current immigration status.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Nursing roles at Lakeland Regional Health?
Lakeland Regional Health typically expects candidates to hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an Associate Degree in Nursing, an active or pending Florida RN license, and NCLEX-RN passage. For international candidates, a CGFNS credential evaluation is also required as part of the H-1B petition. Specialty units like ICU or emergency nursing may require additional certifications such as BLS or ACLS.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Lakeland Regional Health?
You can browse and apply for nursing roles at Lakeland Regional Health directly through their careers portal. If you're specifically looking for positions open to visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you filter Lakeland Regional Health listings by visa type so you only spend time on roles where H-1B sponsorship is a realistic option. Apply early in the H-1B registration window if you need sponsorship for an October start.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a nursing role at Lakeland Regional Health?
The H-1B process typically takes four to six months from offer acceptance to an approved petition under standard processing. The employer must first file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which takes around seven business days, before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. USCIS premium processing can reduce the petition review window to around 15 business days if your employer opts in. Plan your timeline around the April 1 filing deadline and October 1 start date.
