Align your credentials to OT security
Lam Research operates critical semiconductor fabrication environments where operational technology security is a real concern. Certifications like CISSP or ICS-CERT-aligned training signal direct relevance to the infrastructure protection work their teams actually do.
Target roles before H-1B registration opens
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year. Applying for Cybersecurity roles in late 2025 or early 2026 gives Lam Research time to sponsor you through the lottery cycle without rushing the I-129 petition preparation.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Cybersecurity roles
Lam Research posts Cybersecurity positions across multiple job boards at different times. Migrate Mate surfaces visa-sponsoring roles in one place so you can track openings at Lam Research specifically and apply while positions are still active.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB sponsorship
Lam Research sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Cybersecurity roles, but DOL PERM audits in tech-adjacent industries can extend the process beyond 18 months. Asking about green card sponsorship policy during the offer stage sets realistic expectations.
Document your work on cross-border data compliance
Lam Research operates globally and Cybersecurity candidates who can demonstrate experience with frameworks like NIST CSF or cross-border data protection policies are stronger fits for roles that span multiple international sites and regulatory jurisdictions.

Does Lam Research sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity roles?
Yes, Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for Cybersecurity positions. The company participates in the annual H-1B lottery, so your role needs to be in place before USCIS registration opens in March. Roles focused on enterprise security, identity management, and infrastructure protection have historically been included in their sponsorship scope.
Which visa types does Lam Research commonly sponsor for Cybersecurity positions?
Lam Research sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Cybersecurity roles, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying security roles. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific position structure.
What qualifications does Lam Research expect for Cybersecurity roles?
Most Cybersecurity roles at Lam Research require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with network security, endpoint protection, or cloud security in a manufacturing or enterprise environment is valued. Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or Security+ strengthen your profile, particularly for roles tied to operational technology or global compliance.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity jobs at Lam Research?
You can find Cybersecurity openings at Lam Research through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Tailor your resume to highlight security experience relevant to semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments. Apply early in the hiring cycle to allow time for visa processing if sponsorship is required.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Lam Research Cybersecurity role?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, build your timeline around the March USCIS registration window. Lam Research would need to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition. From offer acceptance to approved status can take six months or more depending on whether premium processing is used, so early engagement with their HR team is critical.
