Frame your credentials around patient interaction
Healthcare customer service roles at Legacy Health involve HIPAA-regulated data and patient-facing communication. Highlight any experience with electronic health records, medical terminology, or insurance verification, these translate directly to their hiring criteria.
Confirm Legacy Health's E-Verify enrollment early
Legacy Health operates in Oregon and Washington, both of which have strong E-Verify compliance expectations for healthcare employers. Verify their enrollment status through the E-Verify employer search before you apply, so you know your authorization documents will be accepted without friction.
Target open roles through Migrate Mate
Legacy Health posts Customer Service openings across multiple departments and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Legacy Health roles that align with your visa type, so you're not manually sorting through listings that won't support your status.
Address your OPT timeline in your cover letter
If you're on F-1 OPT, Legacy Health's HR team will want to know your authorization window upfront. State your current end date and confirm whether you're eligible for a STEM extension, since healthcare support roles in larger systems often fall under eligible SOC codes.
Ask about petition timing during the offer stage
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October start. If your offer comes late in the fiscal year, clarify with the hiring team whether they'll file in the next registration window or use cap-exempt status if applicable.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification for customer service
H-1B approval for customer service roles requires demonstrating that the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Review the job description for clinical coordination or healthcare administration requirements that support a specialty occupation argument before your interview.

Find Customer Service at Legacy Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Legacy Health sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Service roles?
Legacy Health has sponsored H-1B visas for workers in its Oregon and Washington facilities, including non-clinical roles. Customer Service positions with responsibilities in healthcare administration, patient coordination, or billing support are more likely to qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. Roles that require only a general bachelor's degree face a harder path to H-1B approval, so the specific job description matters significantly.
How do I apply for Customer Service jobs at Legacy Health?
Applications go through Legacy Health's careers portal, where you can filter by department and location. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa compatibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, be upfront about your work authorization status in the application, since Legacy Health uses E-Verify and needs to confirm employment eligibility before onboarding.
Which visa types does Legacy Health commonly support for Customer Service positions?
Legacy Health has a track record of supporting H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visa holders. For Customer Service roles, F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. H-1B sponsorship depends on the specific duties and degree requirements of the posted role.
What qualifications does Legacy Health expect for Customer Service roles?
Most Customer Service positions at Legacy Health require prior experience in a healthcare or clinical support environment. Familiarity with patient registration systems, insurance eligibility checks, or HIPAA-compliant communication is a strong differentiator. Roles in billing support or care coordination often require a relevant associate's or bachelor's degree, and bilingual candidates with Spanish language skills are frequently prioritized given the patient populations Legacy serves.
How do I time my job search to account for visa processing at Legacy Health?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, begin your search no later than January so an offer can be confirmed before the April USCIS registration window. For OPT candidates, start outreach at least three months before your authorization expires to allow time for the employer's internal review process and any DOL-required filings. J-1 holders should confirm Legacy Health's willingness to support a waiver before accepting an offer.
