Target clinical and allied health roles first
Legacy Health's sponsorship activity is concentrated in healthcare and medical services. Prioritize applications for clinical, nursing, and allied health positions, these departments have the strongest track record of supporting international candidates through the visa process.
Confirm H-1B eligibility before applying
Legacy Health sponsors H-1B visas, so verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation before submitting. Healthcare roles requiring a specific degree, such as clinical informatics, therapy, or pharmacy, are strong candidates. Roles with generalized degree requirements are less likely to be approved.
Reach out to HR about sponsorship early
Healthcare employers like Legacy Health often have internal processes for evaluating sponsorship on a role-by-role basis. Contact their HR or talent acquisition team early to confirm willingness to sponsor before investing time in a full application.
Highlight licensure and credentialing in your application
U.S. state licensure is a hard requirement in most sponsored healthcare roles. If you already hold or are eligible for Oregon state licensure, lead with that, it removes one of the biggest friction points for healthcare employers when evaluating international candidates.
Use OPT and CPT as a foot in the door
Legacy Health sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT in addition to H-1B. If you're on a student visa, applying for an OPT or CPT position first is a practical way to build a relationship with the organization before seeking longer-term H-1B sponsorship.
Search for Legacy Health openings on Migrate Mate
Finding healthcare employers who genuinely sponsor visas takes research. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, search Legacy Health directly to browse current openings and see which roles align with your visa type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Legacy Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Legacy Health sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is most common for specialty roles in healthcare and medical services where a specific degree is required, such as clinical informatics, pharmacy, or rehabilitation therapy. Like most healthcare systems, Legacy Health evaluates sponsorship on a role-by-role basis, so confirming willingness with their HR team before applying is strongly recommended.
Which visa types does Legacy Health sponsor?
Legacy Health sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas. This range makes it accessible to candidates at different stages, from students completing OPT or CPT placements to experienced professionals seeking long-term H-1B or TN visa sponsorship. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific role.
Which departments or roles at Legacy Health are most likely to sponsor visas?
Clinical and allied health departments are the most active areas for visa sponsorship at Legacy Health. Roles in nursing, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, and clinical informatics tend to require specific degrees that support specialty occupation classification, a prerequisite for H-1B approval. Administrative or general management roles are less commonly sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Legacy Health?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find Legacy Health openings that align with your visa situation. It surfaces employers with verified sponsorship histories, so you can filter by company and visa type rather than guessing. Once you identify a role of interest, cross-check with Legacy Health's own careers page to confirm the listing is current before applying.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting Legacy Health for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship requires early planning. The annual H-1B cap lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, meaning your employer must file registration roughly six months before you could begin work. If you're on OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and work backward, Legacy Health will need time to evaluate your role, prepare the Labor Condition Application, and file the petition before your status expires.
