Align your credentials with Oregon licensing requirements
Oregon requires state licensure for most clinical roles before you can start work. Confirm your credential evaluation is complete and your license application is filed before interviewing, so Legacy Health's HR team isn't waiting on paperwork that delays your start date.
Target Legacy Health's hospital campuses directly
Legacy operates multiple hospitals across the Portland metro area. Applying to roles tied to specific campuses, rather than system-wide postings, often reaches hiring managers faster and signals you understand the regional setup of their Healthcare network.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before your first interview
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific Healthcare role is approved for sponsorship. Legacy Health sponsors select visa types, and not every open position qualifies. Raising this early prevents wasted time on both sides.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Healthcare openings
Searching broadly wastes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Legacy Health's Healthcare postings by visa type, so you're only applying to roles where your specific status, whether H-1B, TN, or OPT, is actually supported.
Factor USCIS processing timelines into your offer negotiation
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you're negotiating a start date with Legacy Health, build in enough lead time for petition preparation, which typically requires at least four to six weeks of employer coordination.
Prepare your DOL Labor Condition Application documentation early
Legacy Health's HR or legal team files the LCA with DOL before your H-1B petition can move forward. Have your job title, work location, and expected duties documented precisely, since the LCA must reflect the actual position you'll hold.

Find Healthcare at Legacy Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Legacy Health sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Legacy Health does sponsor H-1B visas for qualifying Healthcare roles, though not every open position is approved for sponsorship. Sponsorship decisions are typically made at the role level, so you'll need to confirm directly with the recruiter that the specific position you're applying for supports H-1B filing. Clinical roles with defined degree requirements tend to be stronger candidates for sponsorship.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Legacy Health?
Applications go through Legacy Health's careers portal, where Healthcare roles are listed by location and department. You can also browse and filter Legacy Health's sponsorship-eligible Healthcare postings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles by visa type so you're not applying blindly. Once you identify a role, submit your application through Legacy's system and flag your visa status clearly in your materials.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare roles at Legacy Health?
Legacy Health has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT visas for Healthcare roles. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations. J-1 is common for medical training programs. F-1 OPT and CPT work for students transitioning from a healthcare-related degree program, with OPT STEM extensions available for qualifying fields.
What qualifications are expected for Healthcare roles at Legacy Health?
Requirements vary by role, but most clinical positions at Legacy Health require a relevant degree, active Oregon state licensure, and in many cases prior experience in an acute care or hospital setting. For roles supporting H-1B sponsorship, your degree must be directly related to the position. Foreign credentials typically need a NACES-approved evaluation before Oregon licensing boards will accept them.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Healthcare role at Legacy Health?
Start early. Oregon licensing can take two to four months depending on your credential origin, and H-1B cap-subject petitions have a hard April 1 filing deadline for October 1 start dates. Build backward from your target start date. If you're on OPT, track your expiration date and confirm whether your Healthcare role qualifies for a STEM OPT extension before your authorization lapses.
