Align your degree to Linde's technical requirements
Linde's engineering roles in industrial gases and chemicals typically require a degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering. Make sure your credentials are in a field that maps directly to the role, not a loosely related discipline, to clear the specialty occupation standard.
Target roles tied to capital projects
Linde regularly runs large-scale plant construction and expansion projects where engineering headcount grows fast. Positions tied to FEED studies, EPC contracts, or startup commissioning are more likely to have active hiring and sponsorship budget attached.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Engineering roles at Linde
Linde's sponsorship-eligible engineering positions aren't always flagged as such on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Linde engineering openings where visa sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're not wasting applications on roles that won't support your status.
Factor PERM timing into your long-term plan
If your goal is a Green Card, Linde's EB-2 and EB-3 filings go through the PERM labor certification process with DOL. PERM audits in engineering are common, particularly for specialized chemical process roles, so factor in a realistic multi-year timeline when evaluating the offer.
Flag CPT or OPT status early in the process
If you're currently on F-1 CPT or OPT, tell your Linde recruiter before the offer stage. Engineering internships and new-grad roles at Linde have used both pathways, but your authorization end date directly affects onboarding timelines and which petitions need to be queued.

Find Engineering at Linde JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Linde sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Linde sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, which requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as chemical, mechanical, or process engineering. Sponsorship is tied to the specific position, so eligibility depends on the role's requirements and your degree alignment. Confirming sponsorship intent directly with your recruiter early in the process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Linde?
You can find Linde's open engineering positions through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is available. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific engineering discipline the role covers, whether that's process design, project engineering, or safety. Linde's engineering hiring often involves technical screens and panel interviews focused on your applied experience in industrial or chemical environments.
What visa types does Linde use for Engineering roles?
Linde uses H-1B visas for most professional engineering hires requiring specialty occupation status. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for students and recent graduates in internship or new-grad engineering roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering disciplines. For permanent residence, Linde files through EB-2 and EB-3 categories, typically after a period of H-1B employment.
What qualifications does Linde look for in Engineering candidates?
Linde's engineering roles in the chemicals and industrial gases sector generally require a degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or process engineering. For experienced roles, hands-on background in plant operations, process safety, or project execution in an industrial environment carries significant weight. Familiarity with pressure systems, cryogenic processes, or EPC project environments is a practical differentiator for many of their technical positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Linde Engineering hires?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing runs several months, with premium processing available to reduce that to around 15 business days. For new H-1B registrations, hires must go through the annual lottery with an April 1 start date. PERM labor certification for Green Card filings typically adds one to two years before the I-140 petition stage, and audit rates for engineering roles mean building extra time into that estimate.
