Frame your credentials around semiconductor markets
Micron operates in DRAM, NAND, and storage solutions, so tailor your resume to show experience in electronics supply chains, component sales, or hardware partnerships. Generalist business development backgrounds get screened out early when hiring managers are evaluating technical market fit.
Target roles tied to Micron's strategic verticals
Micron's BD openings often sit within specific segments like automotive, data center, or mobile. Applying to the right vertical, not just any open BD role, signals intent and improves your chances of clearing the initial recruiter screen before sponsorship discussions start.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before your final interview
Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role is approved for H-1B or H-1B1 sponsorship. Some BD positions at large semiconductor firms are classified differently based on seniority, and you want confirmation before the offer stage, not after.
Understand how Micron's LCA filing affects your timeline
Once Micron extends an offer, your attorney works with DOL to certify a Labor Condition Application before USCIS can receive the H-1B petition. Build at least 60 days into your post-offer timeline to account for this, especially if you're transitioning from OPT.
Search open roles by visa type using Migrate Mate
Filter Business Development positions at Micron Technology by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. This lets you identify which specific roles align with your visa category, whether H-1B, H-1B1, or Green Card pathways, before investing time in a full application.
Prepare your degree credentials for specialty occupation review
USCIS requires that H-1B Business Development roles qualify as specialty occupations. A degree in engineering, economics, or a related technical field strengthens the petition. If your degree is in an unrelated discipline, gather documentation showing how your coursework connects to semiconductor markets.

Find Business Development at Micron Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Micron Technology sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Micron Technology sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company has an active sponsorship track record for this function across its semiconductor and storage business units. Sponsorship availability can vary by seniority level and role classification, so confirm directly with the recruiter during the interview process before assuming every BD opening qualifies.
Which visa types does Micron Technology commonly sponsor for Business Development positions?
Micron sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Business Development roles, along with immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for longer-term employees. H-1B is the most common route for initial work authorization. H-1B1 is available exclusively to Australian and Chilean nationals and functions similarly to the H-1B but bypasses the annual lottery.
What qualifications does Micron Technology expect for Business Development roles?
Micron typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related technical field, paired with experience in semiconductors, electronics, or hardware markets. Roles often require familiarity with complex sales cycles, partner ecosystem management, or go-to-market strategy within component or memory solution segments. An advanced degree can strengthen both your candidacy and the H-1B specialty occupation case.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Micron Technology?
You can search and filter Business Development openings at Micron Technology on Migrate Mate, which shows roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions that match your work authorization needs before applying. Once you find a relevant role, apply through Micron's careers portal and clearly indicate your visa status early in recruiter conversations to avoid timeline surprises later.
How do I plan my timeline if Micron extends a Business Development offer with H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B petitions for new applicants must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, and selection is by lottery. If you're on OPT, your 60-day grace period and OPT expiration dates need to align with this window. Work with Micron's immigration counsel immediately after receiving an offer to map out the LCA certification, petition filing, and any cap-gap coverage you may need.
