Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Community Building Programming oversees unified programming and strategies for Audubon’s engagement hubs, including Conservation Action Centers, Sanctuaries, Community Chapters, Campus Chapters and other Next Generation programming. The position will ensure programming aligns with and contributes impact toward Audubon’s strategic plan. Under the direction of the Vice President, Conservation Action, Centers and Sanctuaries, the Senior Manager will be responsible for developing, aligning, and scaling programs in collaboration with programming staff and conservation leaders across Audubon. They will partner closely with colleagues to ensure tracking of programmatic efforts to advance Audubon’s Community Building goals. This role involves overseeing multiple projects in a dynamic and matrixed organizational environment. This position is classified as hybrid, in accordance with Audubon’s “Where We Work” Policy. Hybrid employees are expected to work in an Audubon office every Monday and Tuesday and an additional two days each month of the employee’s choosing. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of one of Audubon’s centers or offices. Essential Functions
- Identify, co-develop, and scale uniformed programming priorities and strategies that contribute impact toward Audubon’s conservation and community building goals.
- Collaborate with milestone leads or their designees to determine community engagement outcomes, to identify existing programs that support those outcomes.
- Elevate and scale existing program successes, including identifying training, coaching, and cohort learning activities.
- Collaborate with EDIB staff to support building the skills and capacity to authentically connect Audubon, through centers and sanctuaries, with our communities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas including through joint planning and execution of shared priorities.
- Support and leverage co-creation in developing programming across all Audubon engagement hubs (Centers, Sanctuaries, Community and Campus Chapters) within Audubon and with community members.
- Accountable for ensuring tracking, measurement, and reporting of work within the initiative’s portfolio toward Community Building goals.
- Support a cohesive network of Audubon staff with program delivery expertise across Audubon including highlighting successes and leading a Programming Community of Practice.
- Forge a deeper network of staff with programming expertise across Audubon and connections with other communities of practice across Audubon and in the broader informal education community.
- Develop programming consistent with Audubon’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Conservation Principles across the programmatic work.

Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in program development with a proven track record of deploying curricula and activities with demonstrated impact and outcomes. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Strong oral and written communications skills that can be adapted to reach a wide range of individuals and used to build consensus. Ability to synthesize, articulate, and communicate technical and complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong diplomacy and facilitation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar tools.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects through to completion, including meeting project deadlines, conducting required reporting and tracking, and coordinating the work of key staff and partners.
