EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Regular, full-time, 12-month position
PRIMARY DUTY: To assist the Director in the operations of the accounts receivable, cash management and investment functions including billing, collections and reconciliation of all funds due Northwest Missouri State University ensuring compliance with University, state and federal regulations and standard accounting procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Directs and supports the billing, collection, deposit, disbursement and record maintenance processes for tuition and fees, other student related funds and other University funds as well as assists in establishing policies and procedures regarding these activities.

Supports the payment plans and collections process, including but not limited to creating and monitoring accounts receivable aging of accounts as well as addressing delinquent accounts, working directly with collection agencies, updating student accounts and processing account write-offs as needed.

Processes 3rd party payments and refunds, 1098T reporting, and Department of Education transactions.

Participates in various University events such as Summer Orientation Advisement and Registration (SOAR) and Advantage.

Directs and supports the cash control functions of the office, including oversight of bank deposits, adherence to cash on hand requirements, credit card transactions, and resolution of discrepancies and analysis of cash flow reports and reconciliations of cash activities.

Completes the financial transactions and reconciliation of Student Accounts Services records with those of the Accounting Office to ensure complete agreement of revenues, receipts, disbursements and outstanding receivable records. Responsible for preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and analyses as needed.

Confer with and counsel students, parents, staff, and other customers regarding accounts and related policies and procedures.

Operating, maintaining and enhancing the student information systems (e.g. Ellucian; Touchnet; ECSI; Workday) as these activities pertain to Student Account Services including but not limited to processing and supervising data input, resolving input errors, building system tables, testing and implementing new system releases, determining needed adjustments to the system, monitoring data feeds to other automated systems, etc.

Manages Perkins loan portfolio, including processing reports, tracking monthly payments, perform loan reconciliations, and assigning defaulted loans to the U.S Department of Education in compliance with federal regulations.

Serve on multiple committees, such as Student Financial Appeals and Retention, Persistence, Graduation and Student Success Council.

Responsible for training Banner and Workday end users outside Student Account Services.

Possess knowledge of software processes and procedures used to maintain Banner software.

Back up to Director: online banking, maintenance of accurate financial records, and compliance with various regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in business related field
Experience: One to three years in related operations of accounts receivable and cash management

WORKING CONDITIONS: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evening and weekend hours dependent upon project deadlines.
