Target academic and research-facing roles
Pepperdine's sponsored positions are concentrated in faculty, research, and specialized administrative roles. Focus your search on departments with ongoing research activity or graduate programs, where international hiring is more common in higher education.
Understand which visas Pepperdine actively uses
Pepperdine sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, and Green Card pathways alongside OPT and CPT. Understanding which visa applies to your situation before you apply helps you ask informed questions and signal to HR that you've done your homework.
Apply during the academic hiring cycle
Universities like Pepperdine typically hire for faculty and professional staff roles on an academic calendar. Positions posted between September and February often move toward spring offers, which aligns well with H-1B cap filing deadlines in March and April.
Use OPT or CPT as an entry point
If you're on an F-1 visa, Pepperdine's willingness to work with OPT and CPT makes it a viable first employer. A strong performance on OPT can position you for H-1B sponsorship when the role becomes permanent and the employer sees long-term value.
Search for verified sponsors before applying
Not every university advertises its sponsorship willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Pepperdine and similar institutions with a confirmed track record over those that may decline after an offer.
Highlight specialized qualifications in your application
Pepperdine sponsors visas for roles requiring specialized expertise, which is central to the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Emphasize field-specific credentials, advanced degrees, and how your background is directly tied to the responsibilities of the role you're applying for.

Which roles at Pepperdine University are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Pepperdine is most common in faculty positions, postdoctoral research roles, and specialized professional staff in areas like technology, finance, and student affairs. Roles requiring a specific advanced degree, where the position has clear specialty occupation characteristics, are the strongest candidates for H-1B or Green Card support.
How do I find currently open visa-sponsored jobs at Pepperdine University?

Apply during the core academic hiring window and be upfront about your visa status in your cover letter or early conversations with HR.
