Verify your nursing license transfers
Before applying, confirm your foreign nursing credentials meet Michigan Board of Nursing requirements. International nurses often need CGFNS certification or a credentials evaluation, and Pine Rest will expect licensure to be in progress or complete before filing.
Target psychiatric and behavioral health units
Pine Rest's hiring is concentrated in mental health settings, not general medical floors. Tailor your resume to highlight psychiatric nursing experience, crisis intervention, or behavioral health rotations, since those align directly with their clinical focus and strengthen your candidacy for sponsored roles.
Clarify sponsorship type early in conversations
Pine Rest sponsors multiple visa categories for nursing, including EB-3 and J-1. Ask the recruiter which pathway they intend to use for your role, since EB-3 PERM requires DOL labor certification steps that add months to your timeline before USCIS can act.
Use Migrate Mate to find open nursing roles
Browse active nursing openings at Pine Rest that are open to visa sponsorship using Migrate Mate. Filtering by employer and role type lets you identify which positions are currently hiring before you invest time in the application process.
Request a written sponsorship commitment before accepting
Before signing an offer, ask Pine Rest's HR team to confirm in writing which visa category they will sponsor, who covers filing fees, and whether the offer is contingent on visa approval. This protects you if timelines shift after you resign from another position.

Does Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services does not commonly sponsor H-1B visas for nursing roles. Nursing positions are typically classified under EB-3 immigrant visa pathways or J-1 exchange visitor programs rather than H-1B, which is more commonly used for specialty occupation roles outside of bedside nursing. Confirm the specific pathway with their HR team during the hiring process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services?
Pine Rest has sponsored nursing candidates through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical training, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nurses who meet USMCA occupation requirements, and J-1 exchange visitor visas. EB-3 is the most common long-term pathway for internationally educated nurses entering permanent employment at healthcare organizations like Pine Rest.
What qualifications and experience does Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services expect for sponsored Nursing roles?
Pine Rest primarily hires nurses for psychiatric, behavioral health, and crisis care settings. Candidates are expected to hold or be actively pursuing Michigan RN licensure, and international nurses will generally need a CGFNS credentials evaluation or equivalent. Prior experience in inpatient psychiatric units, residential mental health programs, or crisis stabilization settings strengthens your application significantly given Pine Rest's clinical specialty.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Nursing roles at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type Pine Rest pursues. An EB-3 Green Card route requires DOL PERM labor certification, which currently takes six months or more, followed by USCIS Form I-140 adjudication and visa availability based on your country of birth. J-1 and OPT timelines are shorter but tied to program end dates. Start conversations with Pine Rest's HR team well before your current authorization expires.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services?
You can find and apply for nursing positions at Pine Rest that are open to visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which lists their current openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility. When you apply directly, address your visa status and intended authorization pathway in your cover letter or recruiter conversation early, since Pine Rest's HR team will need to assess sponsorship feasibility before extending an offer.
