Frame Your Experience Around Project Controls
PMA's Management Consultant work centers on construction project controls, claims analysis, and schedule management. Tailor your resume to highlight experience with CPM scheduling, cost tracking, or dispute resolution rather than generic strategy consulting credentials.
Verify Your Degree Supports Specialty Occupation Status
H-1B eligibility requires a direct connection between your degree field and the consulting role. For construction-focused management consulting, degrees in civil engineering, construction management, or architecture strengthen USCIS specialty occupation arguments more than general business degrees.
Target Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
PMA Consultants posts Management Consultant openings across multiple locations and project types. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for PMA roles that align with your visa type and project background before applying directly.
Ask About LCA Status Before Accepting an Offer
PMA must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can proceed. Ask your recruiter at the offer stage whether the LCA has been filed or is in progress so you can map your start date realistically.
Use OPT Early to Build a Qualifying Project Record
PMA sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which can serve as a bridge into a full H-1B sponsorship. Starting on OPT lets you build a documented history on construction or real estate engagements, which directly strengthens your H-1B petition narrative when your employer files.
Check TN Eligibility If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
Management consultants qualify under the TN visa category for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and TN processing is significantly faster than H-1B. Confirm with PMA's HR team whether they're willing to sponsor TN status, since it avoids the annual H-1B lottery entirely.

Find Management Consultant at PMA Consultants JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does PMA Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Management Consultants?
Yes, PMA Consultants sponsors H-1B visas for Management Consultant roles. The firm operates in construction and real estate consulting, where project controls and claims management positions have consistently met USCIS specialty occupation requirements. If you're applying, confirm the role specifies a degree requirement in a directly related field, since that detail is central to H-1B approval for consulting positions.
How do I apply for Management Consultant jobs at PMA Consultants?
Applications go directly through PMA Consultants' careers page or job boards where their openings are posted. Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for finding current Management Consultant openings at PMA that are open to visa sponsorship. Tailor your application to the specific project type the role covers, whether that's litigation support, schedule delay analysis, or owner's representation.
Which visa types does PMA Consultants commonly use for Management Consultant hires?
PMA Consultants sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Management Consultant roles. H-1B is the most common long-term path. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for early-career hires. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which bypasses the H-1B lottery and processes faster.
What qualifications does PMA Consultants expect for Management Consultant roles?
PMA focuses heavily on construction and real estate project delivery, so relevant backgrounds include civil engineering, construction management, architecture, and project finance. Familiarity with CPM scheduling tools, construction claims, contract administration, or cost management is a practical advantage. Most roles expect at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related discipline, which also supports the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires for H-1B petitions.
How do I understand the timeline from offer to visa approval at PMA Consultants?
For H-1B hires, PMA must first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes one to two weeks once submitted. The H-1B petition then goes to USCIS, with standard processing taking three to six months. Regular cap-subject H-1B filings have an April 1 filing window with an October 1 start date, so your timeline depends heavily on where you are in the fiscal year cycle when you receive an offer.
